[edit]- Martorell was about to board one of the trains that was bombed during the 7 July 2005 London bombings as he vacationed in England. He was to meet Merced and Forsythe at the end of the train trip to see one of his paintings at a London museum, but he stopped at his hotel's restaurant to get breakfast.
I'm sorry, but I find this quite hard to believe. For starters, the train is unspecified (was it the one at Edgware Road, Aldgate or Russell Square?). Secondly, London Underground trains come about every 2-3 minutes in the rush hour and do not run to any prescribed schedule, so if he merely stopped off to have breakfast at his hotel on the way to the station, there is no way he would have known for sure whether he would have got on one of the trains that was bombed. Unless he was actually on the platform underground, about to get on the train concerned, before realising he hadn't had breakfast, and decided to return to the surface and go back to his hotel, but this seems unlikely. I would check sources for this, but none are given and Google isn't very helpful [1]. Qwghlm 07:52, July 22, 2005 (UTC)
Does it make sense to place a disputed banner at the top of the article and then remove all of the disputed text? -- unsigned comment left by 128.165.205.120
- No, it doesn't make sense. I've removed the banner, and the text can be restored if someone finds a credible source. --81.154.236.221 18:58, 22 July 2005 (UTC)
- Even with a source, it's non-notable. Something similar probably happened to around 10,000 people that morning. Now, Rudolph Giuliani being in town -- *that's* notable. --Dhartung | Talk 22:53, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

- Well, I think Wilnelia Merced told El Vocero that she was about to pick him up at one of the trains that bombed. Upon hearing the train he was supposed to pick was bombed she worried, called his cell phone and he answered, saying he decided to eat at the restaurant and was looking at the news. So, in theory, yes, it was said he was about to board one of the trains that were attacked. But since there is no prove on the internet, at least not anymore, I don't see a point in putting this back on his biography, unless of course, I could find the article.
