I can't think of the term for someone who attempts to avoid his or her own name from appearing in google. Perhaps a verb. It should appear here as an antonym.

I damn near deleted most of this page. The way it is worded makes it read like an ad for egoSurf.com. The language used is, how shall we say, unencyclopædic. I won't delete it, I just want to get the ball rolling here. Do we need a page on Ego surfers at all? 64.122.95.110 19:01, 6 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think what's there right now (after you editted it down) looks fine. I've certainly heard the word used in places like the New York Times (actually it was in an article about the prevelance of the word "googling" when that word was just getting in vogue). Maybe it should be put in a dictionary? Bobak 23:33, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Search Engine

[edit]

Why do we state which search engine it is most common for egosurfers to use? I would expect them to search using the engine they use normally, i.e. Google, but stating that doesn't add anything nonobvious.
