Untitled
[edit]This page contained a bunch of nonsense and in-jokes that were apparently about someone running a small Internet business. The page was tagged quickly to note that it needed cleanup and cited no sources. I posted the page to AFD, but then thought better of it, blanked the page, and wrote the article about the actually notable Kevin Reynolds, who was the director of Waterworld. Contested move request
[edit]The following request to move a page has been added to Wikipedia:Requested moves as an uncontroversial move, but this has been contested by one or more people. Any discussion on the issue should continue here. If a full request is not lodged within five days, the request will be removed from WP:RM. —Stemonitis 22:33, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Kevin Reynolds (director) → Kevin Reynolds—The main Kevin Reynolds is the film director (Waterworld, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, etc.) The other is a 16 year old figure skater who is already linked to from the director's article. —Masaruemoto 16:23, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Contested. That "sixteen year old" has two quadruple jumps and a serious shot at doing very well on the Grand Prix in a few months. Awartha 17:59, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't say the skater wasn't notable, but he's not as notable as the film director who's been internationally famous since before the skater was born. There's no need for a disambiguation page for two articles when one subject is more notable than the other. (BTW, Awartha happens to be the creator of Kevin Reynolds (figure skater) and also the editor who originally moved Kevin Reynolds to Kevin Reynolds (director)).
- Additional comment; A Google search for "Kevin Reynolds" confirms I'm correct. Every single result on the first page is for the director. The skater's first Google result doesn't even appear until the fourth page. Even though this has been contested by someone who is clearly biased, there's no logical reason for the page not to be moved. Masaruemoto 19:03, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

correction to academic record
[edit]According to this Interview (Heather, Wadowski (February 1, 2002). "'Monte Cristo' owes it all to luck, instinct, USC diploma". University Wire. {{cite news}}
: |access-date=
requires |url=
(help)):
"A former law student at Baylor University, Reynolds turned his attention away from writing political speeches to pursue a career in filmmaking. Transferring from the film school at the University of Texas in Austin to USC..."
Skydiving experience
[edit]There is no mention of Reynolds having or not having any experience doing or observing skydiving. This is important/interesting because of its impact on the source of his thesis film Proof & therefore also on Fandango. The blog posting, http://brookeshortfilm.wordpress.com/2011/03/07/proof-1980-kevin-reynolds/, states "... it was created by real skydivers."; unfortunately the statement is unsourced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.45.200.48 (talk) 18:15, 26 March 2012 (UTC)
