Arsenal Transfer

[edit]

He has been widely linked with a transfer to arsenal, and the sun (although admittedly not the most reliable source!) have said that the transfer is a done deal. should this go into the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.202.80.91 (talk) 13:25, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a transfer gossip website. While it looks likely he will join Arsenal, until such a transfer is confirmed by Arsenal and Lorient then it has not happened and should not be included here.Hermiod (talk) 06:47, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name pronounciation

[edit]

How do you pronounce his name? Kos-seel-ny or possibly Kos-celney? The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 11:53, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

HEIGHT

He is actually 1.83m (6'0"), not 1.85m (6'1"), but no site seems to have his correct height. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.95.139.200 (talk) 00:58, 22 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Carling Cup Final Mistake

[edit]

Does anyone else think that this article should mention that he was involved in the serious mixup with the Arsenal keeper that effectively handed Birmingham City the Carling Cup 2020/11? It is fairly clear that Koscielny has been implicated in the incident by the news media: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_cup/9405702.stm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.145.202.115 (talk) 13:46, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think that people are entirely entitled to edit that particular event in somewhere briefly in the article. However, as of yet all I have seen from people trying to edit this in is either vandalism displaying very harsh and unfair comments towards him, or heavily biased opinions on how particular editors felt about the event. I would be in support of someone writing a short, fair analysis simply describing the events and not explicitly stating that it was his fault, as there are other views that the keeper was more to blame. International retirement

[edit]

I hastily reverted an IP edit the other day which added an end year to his international career in the infobox. Given that he had already announced that he would retire after the WC but was not included in the squad due to injury, and there doesn't appear to be any suggestion of a reversal of that decision, I have reinstated it.
