[edit]

Matt Mills was born in Leicester - Not Swindon. This has recently been published by the Reading FC website and the Leicester Mercury newspaper.

Could you please correct this in all language versions of this article?

Thanks. Chris Owen Heerhugowaard The Netherlands 212.189.4.6 (talk) 06:41, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This needs a better source than a passing reference on the Reading FC website, which has then been replicated elsewhere. At present, the only reliable source (Soccerbase) says that he was born in Swindon. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 06:50, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The player himself confirmed in in an interview with Ian Stringer of BBC Radio Leicester source is Stringers official twitter the post can be found here http://twitter.com/#!/IanStringerBBC/status/89313256275062784 Jimmy Skitz's Answer Machine 13:45, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Agree with daemonic kangaroo here. Twitter is not a reliable source for such claims. Monkeymanman (talk) 21:42, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
then I suggest that you check the source it is linked to now, which Demonic Kanagroo linked to. Jimmy Skitz's Answer Machine 03:05, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry - I should have posted here before to say that I had found a reliable source. -- Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 05:43, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This afternoons project. Courcelles (talk) 17:38, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • "during his time at the Saints" And who are the saints?
  • "Mills switched to Bolton Wanderers." when?
  • Five short choppy paragraphs do not make for a good MOS:LEAD.
  • Style of play section could use expansion. Avoid one-sentence headers
  • "Coventry City were keen to extend his loan period for a second month" Keen doesn't sound encyclopaedic, and doesn't match the source. Perhaps "Coventry City sought to extend..."
  • "With twelve appearances, and scoring three times, Mills’ play "posted his nomination for the newcomer-of-the-year award".[16]" attribute the quotes to someone
  • "an opportunity he said he could not turn down." Which he is meant here?
  • "In order to gain first team football[26] it was announced" Missing the word "experience"
  • "and he returned to his parent" and he was returned
  • "His second goal came later on 17 October 2009" Remove the "later", it is obvious by the dates and that you don't place football twice in a day.
  • "After Reading's 1–0 win in March 2010 against QPR," Don't use unexplained, even linked, abbreviations.
  • "Mills went on to make forty–five and scoring six times in all competitions in the 2010–11 season.[60]" Missing the word "appearances"
  • "Despite a suspension and injury," Was he suspended for the 'obscene gesture'? If so, explain.
  • "Mills made his return to the first team in the second of League Cup" -> "second round of the League"
  • "shoot–out" Use a hyphen here, not an endash
  • "he suffered a minor knee problems during" a... problems is not proper grammar.

Intermediate save. Courcelles (talk) 20:42, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Mills scored a headed brace" No one knows what a brace is outside of football fandom. Just say he scored twice.
  • " Mills was nominated for the SkyBet Championship Player of the Month Award on 7 January 2016." Did he win the award?
  • We need a summary of the rest of the 16-17 season, and a summary pof the first half of the 17-18 season at Forest.
  • "Mills was also called up for the England under-21 side, but did not play." Ref this
  • Statistics and prose for the remainder of the 2018 season are two months out of date.

That's all I've got, but check for issues similar tot eh ones I've mentioned. GA on hold for seven days. Courcelles (talk) 20:48, 25 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
