Fair use rationale for Image:PNCbank Logo.gif

Image:PNCbank Logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. PNC Logo

Hey, it's been about four years since PNC updated their logo by changing the color of "PNC" to blue and the color of the triangular/circle logo to orange, and there's no update on this? PNC's market ranking

Hey guys, the source that is up that has PNC as the sixth-largest bank in the United States is accurate and the most recent. Although it is within a few million of U.S. Bancorp, "coming close" only counts in horseshoe's and grenades. Unless something changes, PNC is the SIXTH largest bank, and sources are there to prove it. Thanks! Jgera5 (talk) 20:36, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

I actually haven't been able to get that search form to work. Regardless of computer it says I need cookies enabled. I definately have them enabled. Strange. Either way the question, if I remember right, is how do you define largest bank. Is it by assets or deposits. Because by assets yes US bank has a few million more. But by deposits (which is what I thought most used in this ranking, and the article has...PNC has more). By assets US Bank is 11th largest in the US and PNC 12th last I checked.

The FDIC site is just ridiculously picky about cookies and making sure you click through their site in the proper order... I'm going to fix up the instructions on the main page and you should be able to access Strunke. But I'm going to wait until tomorrow because the data is coming back oddly right now (late night system updates or stale cookie issues? someone please go WP:TROUT on the programmers there). lacking NEUTRALITY... reads like an advertisement

PNC footprint map

We should add the former BankAtlantic branches already integrated into the map as well as (in a different color, such as orange like we did with National City Corp.) the RBC branches soon to be added to PNC's footprint. Any thoughts? Jgera5 (talk) 00:52, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Well I'm getting there, but I'm having the dual problem of a) not having a computer to compile with, and b) the FDIC website isn't updated yet (is the merger not official yet? because the news sure mare it sound that way), so I have to transfer the branches manually. The Acronym

Controversy section

That a bank founded in 1852 had to close two branches for a couple of days due to some civil disobedience in 2011 seems incredibly obscure and smacks of recentism and is hardly controversial. I believe that should be removed in accordance with WP:TRIVIA, WP:UNDUE, WP:COATRACK, etc. Toddst1 (talk) 22:38, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Original President, Early History

I've found evidence (here and here for example) that the original bank, Pittsburgh Trust and Savings, was organized by James H. Laughlin (who also held the first presidency.) This information seems important, especially considering it would open links to and from Jones and Laughlin Steel Company and other pages of Pittsburgh providence. Before I added much, I wanted to make sure there wasn't some reason it isn't there already. It wouldn't be more than a couple sentences, and there seems to be the evidence to back it up. The plot thickens! PNC attributes their beginnings to the same Laughlin of J&L Steel, but with "E" as the middle initial. My only reservation about declaring them one and the same on a major page is the omission of the "H" in reference to James Laughlin in some texts.
