I am trying to locate a website that I can look at the December 1948 newspaper that serviced Sugar Land, Texas in Fort Bend County. Thanks:-Kay —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.22.123.210 (talk) 19:48, 2 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is not the right place for your query: see WP:Reference Desk--Felix Folio Secundus (talk) 08:01, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disam page

[edit]

I'd like to make this into a disam page akin to private. What is here now would go to general public, which is basically what this article is talking about. Why? Well I just disammed 400 school articles that were incorrectly directed here. And I have barely touched the university articles incorrectly pointed here. It's going to end up nearly half of the links to this page. Screams disam page. What do others think? --User:Woohookitty Disamming fool! 10:00, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, go ahead and move it to general public and recreate this as a disambig page. - M0rphzone (talk) 08:30, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'll take a shot at it in the next couple of days here unless I see an objection. I'm very surprised it hasn't always been a disam page. --User:Woohookitty Disamming fool! 08:58, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
According to THIS, a disambiguation page did exist in the past - but was deleted in January 2013 by User:R'n'B. Don't know the details. I have just left R'n'B a message in his talk page, HERE. My name is Mercy11, and I approve this message. 01:36, 8 August 2013 (UTC) Mercy11 (talk) 07:36, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note for folks doing the cleanup:

[edit]

Article scope should include legal scope at this WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, so fails WP:NPOV currently. Widefox; talk 12:47, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Image Issue "La_Foule_illuminée"

[edit]

As stated in my edit summary comment, adding to that and more information here on the Talk page. The image at the top presently "La_Foule_illuminée" La_Foule_illuminée has issues with linking to a Wikipedia English Version. The French Page link was fixed to https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Foule_illumin%C3%A9e not sure how to link that with brackets , so plain url goes to the French page Wikipedia. I do not know how I got it work in the image properly on this page properly. Pre-existing code played a big part in that and the listed edit on the same image page listed below.

I could not find the English page and as suggested in my "Summary Comment" I found two pages that might be at lest be alternative 2nd class (choice) pages to link to, so at least that gives move information and context on the Sculpture and/or the Sculptor as I wanted to know more but links and searches fail. The 2 suggested linked articles are English, can't link any French versions for Quebec Canada, which is where the sculpture is located, but the Sculptor lived in France the last part of their life...

The 1st page Raymond_Mason_(sculptor) (see French Wikipedia page at https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_Mason more information ) was the sculpture's sculptor that one needs the image and some information added for a section to their page about this sculpture. Maybe some of the French Page translated and added?

The 2nd page for an alternative article (poorer choice in my opinion) is McGill_College_Avenue Specifically the section McGill_College_Avenue#Structures which I was able to finally after several tries to get a FR version article to link with the FR tag for French. That had and still has the Same missing English or red article link issue. Both edits are working in preview and display of the "FR" TAG, I'm sure someone can clean up the code better on both. I tried my best and tag both edits with Help Needed. The rest is up to a better/more experienced editor or perhaps a bot will be behind shortly...

To help on the Sculptor 'Raymond Mason I stumbled on this https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q2419717 , no clue where to go or what to add. "I'm being bold" by not shooting us all in the feet with mistakes requiring even more editing work...

With all that hopefully someone can help start on this page/image by fixing the image, and then adding to the Artist's page as the English page needs work also.

The subject Pubic is both important and the word shares many definitions and usage in grammar context between just the USA and UK. Then when we add all the other English Speaking Countries in there, we have page requiring far more experienced people to raise it to where to should be. Maybe take few minutes and help on this page beside the issue I listed.

P.S. Tell your fellow Wikipedia Account Holding Editors to quite deleting and purging articles, that should be bannable offense except in rare cases. A good rule would be , 'Before any page would be deleted, they must first prove it is impossible to improve the content by editing and improving it". The "Merge and then Purge" is equally bad, as most merges follow with later purges to "Tidy up" of that big section" of semi-related information that was merged. Too many smaller informative pages have been purged with lame lazy claims of "not noble" enough, instead of them doing the work. Too many broken in article and web links that are just deleted instead of being fixed or inserting an Internet Archive save of the linked page of that day, that they chose deletion instead....2600:1702:1590:9A30:751B:1E53:22AD:35FD (talk) 08:38, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
