List of famous sisters

[edit]

This section has really gotten out of hand; it should include only the most prominent examples of famous sisters and not be an indiscriminate list. I've already removed quite a few entries, but I think it's still too long. Maybe we need some inclusion criteria. At the very least, I propose the following:

  • The sisters should either have an article about them collectively (e.g. Millie and Christine McCoy, The Pointer Sisters) or all have their own article. (Maybe also exclude cases in which one sister is very well known, but the other is only just notable enough for a Wikipedia article and could not reasonably be called famous).
  • The sisters should not derive their fame from being part of a royal or political dynasty, unless they are specifically known for being sisters, such as OTMA, or very famous in their own right, such as Mary I of England and Elizabeth I of England.

Do these make sense? Let me know what you think. Lennart97 (talk) 15:13, 10 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Overview

[edit]

This section is a nightmare. It strays very far from defining "sister" and wraps in a ton of poorly sourced psuedoscience, irrelevant mythology, and sexist notions. It needs a complete overhaul. 12.189.37.162 (talk) 03:21, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would refer to it more politely as "pop psychology". Same for the page about brother. Both are too short, and almost completely devoid of historical information, variations across cultures (specific types of relationships rather than sweeping generalities), etc. Martindo (talk) 01:31, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
