Neighborhoods
[edit]How did it come to be that Kensington Stables are not in Kensington? Is this real estate agent- motivated expansion of Windsor Terrace? By their arguments, all of Windsor Terrace and Kensington will soon be part of Park Slope.--38.104.189.46 (talk) 15:28, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
- It's far from unusual to find commercial operations named after one neighborhood in a different neighborhood. This can happen in a number of ways: the perception of where neighborhood boundaries are can change; businesses founded in one neighborhood can move to another, keeping the name; a business in a less-desirable neighborhood can use the name of a nearby more-desirable neighborhood in order to see tonier. Yes, real-estate agents are indeed responsible for trying to expand good neighborhoods so they can sell properties in close-by bad neighborhoods, but one cannot necessarily ascribe every discrepency to real-estate agent shenanigans.
