Rewritten in Lua

[edit]

I rewrote this template so it relies on the native Lua module Module:COVID-19 pandemic. This alone cut the post-expand include size of the template in half (previously, this template alone took up over 1/4 of the per-page limit). It also allows the module to be called directly with {{#invoke:COVID-19 pandemic|}}, which cuts the size in half again (to 1/4 of it's original size). On every page that I checked, this eliminated the need to use the |short=yes option (although that's still available for an additional 50% reduction in size). If there are any issues you find with this transition, please let me know. --Ahecht (TALK

Hey, @Ahecht, can you tell me where I need to go to edit this? I have a new article I'd like to add, but this is new to me. Sorry if I'm being dense! Valereee (talk) 16:43, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Valereee You would edit it at Module:COVID-19_pandemic, or, if you're not familiar enough with Lua and HTML syntax, you can just submit an edit request here. --Ahecht (TALK

Oi, jeez...nah, we don't want me messing with that, I'd definitely cause someone work fixing my incompetent efforts. What I wanted to do was add Pandemic baking into Impact>Social impact. Valereee (talk) 21:34, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and the COVID-19 pandemic

[edit]

Wikipedia coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic has been moved to Wikipedia and the COVID-19 pandemic. Can someone update the template appropriately? ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:01, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Already done by Paintspot. --Ahecht (TALK
