From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello, Delicious carbuncle, my name is Auroranorth. Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like our encyclopedia and decide to stay. Thank you very much for creating a username, it's the first step to becoming a respected member of the community. Here are a couple of pages you might find useful. I won't go into great detail here, but if you ever need any help, you can always try Help:Contents. So, the pages:

I hope you enjoy being a Wikipedian! Always remember to sign your name with the four tildes (~~~~) on any talk page (not in any article) - this will produce your name and date, similar to what will appear at the end of this message. Remember, if you need any help at all, check out Help:Contents, my talk page or the help desk. Or if you like, place {{helpme|YOURPROBLEMHERE}} on your talk page (this page) and someone will swing by soon. Once again, welcome, Delicious carbuncle!

sorry

I've reverted your addition to this page. You are going to need a better source than a flickr forum page to include that information. You also shouldn't be cutting and pasting information from another site word for word. --OnoremDil 16:10, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Any user driven forum, which that appears to be, is not going to qualify. --OnoremDil 16:20, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Julian Barnes. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 02:17, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Evening Star (pub), you will be blocked from editing. Darkstar doesn't make a "Beefy Bitter". Odd, that. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 02:33, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Keratoconus, you will be blocked from editing. The study you cite has nothing to do with obese people and Keratoconus incidence. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 02:35, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Now listen up. Two last warnings? That's pretty surprising. Didn't think that was possible.

Point no 1. The keratoconus comment was actually described as "(Not supported by the reference)". Have you read the article? Also, you've reverted my comment that the chairs and tables at the Evening Star are made out of railway sleepers. They are. Perhaps you could email them and ask.

Fair enough, revert my edits if you don't think they're referenced enough, but vandalism? That's pushing it a bit far. An over-zealous moderator is possibly as dangerous as a vandal. [citation needed] "Jerk, Beefy!" (talk) 17:13, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

Your comment was addressed to Delicious carbuncle, and you have now been blocked, but I will answer it here should you come back to see it. To answer your question about the keratoconus article, yes, I have read it, and have a copy here with me now. It does not support the claim you made in the article. Specifically, from the Discussion: "Our study also demonstrated that the leptin immunostaining of keratoconus corneas was at a lower intensity than the control corneas. From this result, one conclusion is that leptin expression may be inhibited during the development of keratoconus." The most the authors say on this subject is: "These findings led us to speculate that leptin participates in immune complications within the cornea in infectious keratitis and possibly keratoconus." It is a very long way from that to say "obese people are about 10 times more likely to be diagnosed with KC than their slimmer peers". — BillC talk 16:13, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

My accusations of vandalism against you

[edit]

I applaud your cleverness, and it's nice to see quality vandalism for a change, but we both know that's exactly what it is. When I get the time, I'll write it up and post it on WP:ANI where you will have a chance to argue your case. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 23:57, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

We shall see. The game is afoot. "Jerk, Beefy!" (talk) 12:20, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Game over

[edit]
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for persistent introduction of deliberately false material. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Following the thread on AN/I mentioned above, I have examined your contributions. Sorry— the game is not afoot, it is over and you lost. — Coren (talk) 15:27, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

> I said "The game is afoot." I meant; I am going to protest my innocence. It's what bloody Sherlock Holmes says, for goodness sake!

Fair enough, though. I'm out. Although I rest my case. Cal Henderson IS colourblind. http://www.iamcal.com/discuss/topic7158/
