Jess McIntosh, New York City, New York, (10 september 1981) is an independent American political strategist and communication consultant.[1]. . As a progressive Democrat with an extensive state of service in supporting prominent Democratic politicians, culminating in being Director of Communications Outreach for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign. In the perspective of the broad populated line-up of Democratic candidates for the 2020 presidential campaign CNN forwarded her as an feminin commentator of an younger generation, for instance besides her Democratic colleague, former Bill Clinton's press secretary Joe Lockhart. McIntosh is the current deputy communication director of EMILY's List, the political action committee (PAC), that supports the election of pre-choice female Democratic candidates for office.

She also is the executive editor of Shareblue Media, an American liberal news outlet. On top of that she regularly co-hosts on Sirius XM Satellite Radio and contributes to newsprograms of television networks MSNBC, CBS News and CNN.

Family and education

McIntosh is a daughter of Nana M. McIntosh, who worked on the New York City Department of Education. She was raised by her single mother and grew up in the burroughs of the City. Her father is living in Michigan.

McIntosh attendend New York University (NYU) from 2000 untill 2004, graduating "magna cum laude" with a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature .

Carrière

Soon after graduation McIntosh manifested herself in the political domain. In 2004 she supported as a researcher and policy director Scott Stringer’s campaign to become Borough President of Manhattan. In 2005 she worked as a member of the communication-team, supporting Michael Bloomberg’s campaign for Mayor of NYC.

From 2007 tot 2009 she worked on Al Franken’s campaign for the Senate as a press secretary Thereafter she remained the newly elected senator’s chief press manager until 2010. Later she spent six years as Vice president of Communications at the political action committee, EMILY’s List in Washington D.C., that supports the election of pro-choice female Democratic candidates to office.

From April until November 2016 she worked as Director of Communications Outreach for Hillary Clinton’s presidentiele campagne.

As an experienced political commentator and commentator with a Democratic background, McIntosh is frequently deployed as a commentator of the largely populated presidential campaign for 2020. [3]. [4].

Since 2017 McIntosh operates as an independant consultant for political strategy and communications on behalf of political candidates under the company name Jess McIntosh LLC.

Personal life

McIntosh is a passionate feminist. She wore the rings of her mother and her grandmother when to cast her vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016. McIntosh resides with her friend Christopher in Manhattan. Earlier she divorced in 2013 from strategic consultant Jon-David Schlough after a seven years marriage.

In november 2018 McIntosh pubíshed an article in Elle (magazine) in which she recounts her latent confusion about a deed of the former New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who in 2014 bluntly kissed her after bringing her home after their formal meeting to make acquaintance. The then New York state senator was in his 50s and just divorced while McIntosh was 23. Schneiderman resigned as Attorney General of New York in May 2018 after The New Yorker reported that four women, of which three had a romantic relation with him, accused him of physic en mental mistreatments.
