History
[edit]With the natvive android gallery app it was too difficuilt to find one of 15000 photos in in nearly 800 hirachical folders so the author with the pseudonume k3b decided to create his own gallery app in June 2015 [1] The initial app-s name AndroFotoFinder means android tool to find local photos (Foto). In July 2015 he started adding a geographic map [1] which is partially based on LocationMapViewer from the same author [2] .
In July 2015 [3] the first version of the app 0.3.4 was published in the [F-Droid app store](https://f-droid.org)
In November the englisch language app started to become multilingual [4]
Starting with version 0.4.2 the app was renamed from "A Foto Finder" to "A Photo Manager" with "A Photo Map" to avoid naming collision with other software services [5]. The technical name "AndroFotoFinder" was kept to avoid renaming of the github-urls
