Toni Clark
1954-
Born Toni Gail Sanford, in Jackson Michigan on Augusy 3rd, 1954.[1] Mrs. Clark was elected the Supervisor of Sumpter Township in 2003, making her the first female Supervisor for the township.
Toni Gail Clark was born to Betty Joe Sanford and Geroge Leon Sanford. Mrs. Clark is the second oldest child out five childern. After attending Vandercook Lake High School Mrs. Clark moved to Jackson City. After marrying James Cliftan Clark an Ford engineer[2] in 1992 Mrs. Clark moved to Sumpter Township.
Mrs. Clark was the official nominee of the Wayne County District Democratic Committee for the 2003 election for Sumpter Township Supervisor.[3] During a special election in 2003 she ran against five other caditates but won with 390 votes out of the 1161 votes cast that day.[4] Afer being elected Mrs. Calrk served the town for two years. During which time Mrs. Clark was resposbile for approxitamly 12,199 residents and 37.5 sqaure miles[5] all located in the southeast coner of Wayne County.
Before being elected as Supervisor Mrs. Clark worked for At&T, severed as the Depty Clerk for both Sumpter Township and Agusta Township. In Monroe Township Mrs. Clark acted as the Deputy Supervisor to Barbara Jean Henley.
After her term in office, Mrs. Clark then ran for office of the Wayne County Commisoner in 2006. In this election Mrs.Calrk ran against Mr. Kevin MacNamara. Mrs. Clark was beat in the election and hasnt returned to public office since.
