Page deletion

[edit]
  • If a biography article does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, use the {{db-bio}} tag to request speedy deletion.
  • For speedy deletion use {{dated prod|concern = REASON|month = April|day = 20|year = 2008|time = 15:45|timestamp = 20080420154526}} - the article will be deleted about 5 days later if nobody objects.
  • Although not required, it is considered courteous to notify the article's creator and other significant contributors that you have proposed an article for deletion. You can use {{subst:PRODWarning|Article title}}

Examples of reasons for deletion:

  • Content that does not belong in an encyclopedia.
  • Content does not meet notability guidelines.
  • Content not verifiable in a reliable source.
  • Patent nonsense or gibberish.
  • Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything: Articles require significant coverage, in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.

Footnotes

[edit]

Taken from William Gibson which has both references and footnotes:

Preface statement you want footnoted w/ {{Ref_label|A|I|none}}, {{Note_label|B|II|none}}, {{Note_label|C|III|none}}, etc...

Then under "Footnotes" heading:

'''<small>I</small>.''' {{Note_label|A|I|none}}
'''<small>II</small>.''' {{Note_label|B|II|none}}
'''<small>III</small>.''' {{Note_label|C|III|none}}

...each followed by their footnoted text, which in turn are followed by their own reference tags so that they appear under the "References" section...
