Arthur de Villepin (born 10 July 1988) is a French entrepreneur and art collector. He is the son of former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin who served from 31 May 2005 to 17 May 2007. And his mother Marie-Laure Le Guay is a French sculptor. He founded the Art de Vivre Group in Hong Kong in 2015, holding the position as Chairman and CEO ever since.
Life and Career
[edit]Arthur was born in Washington D.C., on 10th July 1988. He has two sisters, Marie de Villepin, the elder sister who is a singer, model as well as actress, and younger sister Victoire de Villepin.
He spent most of his childhood in India where his father was posted and returned to France at the age of eight. He completed his secondary education in France and graduated with a degree in Politics and International Relations at the University of Bath (UK).
Career
[edit]Arthur started his entrepreneurship career right after his internship in 2008 in Hong Kong.
In 2010, he started his first venture, Pont des Arts, together with Thibault Pontallier. Later in 2013, he launched a new business partnering with YellowKorner. And he began to develop the accessible luxury market in Greater China through art. In 2014, he joined forces with his father and created the consulting firm Villepin International to focus on cross boarding advisory.
In 2015, he decided to combine his different ventures under Art de Vivre Group which headquartered in Hong Kong to continue developing the retail and digital brands in the accessible luxury segment.
In 2018, he started to partner with Carre d'Artistes for the Hong Kong region and created Art de Vivre Collection, his new leading platform for promoting and distributing lifestyle brands in Asia.
Honours
[edit]He is included in the Generation T list of Asia Tatler in 2016 and also ranks into the 2018's 500-list of Tatler Hong Kong.
