Source?
Can you add source to Image:Dagmar 1864 cropped.jpg, a "featured pic" in the news section on the main page? Otherwise, {{nsd}}. YellowDot 17:35, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- That image was a temporary crop version of Image:Dagmar 1864.jpg so the subject could easily be viewed as a thumbnail on the main page. Historically, we do not add much on {{M-cropped}} images because it is only temporary and the tag always does have a link to the original image. For that particular image, the point it moot now since it has been removed off the main page and subsequently deleted. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 18:02, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, someone added the withdrawal of troops from Lebanon by Israel as noteworthy for the main page. I agreed with them, but I just wanted to seek your opinion on the wording of the addition before I actually add it.
It currently is: Israel completes its withdrawal of military forces from Lebanon following a month-long conflict with Hezbollah.
I have a bit of a worry about the "month-long" conflict section, because it technically is a two-month long conflict officially, but if you set the end date of the conflict as the ceasefire, it would be one month.
Thanks for your input. --Nishkid64 18:24, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Sunset-to-Sunset Holidays on Selected anniversaries
Thank you for the note, Zzyzx11. I would've missed it otherwise. Thanks. --PFHLai 13:55, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- BTW, Zzyzx11, I see that the Selected anniversaries templates are in your good hands now. Thanks. I can continue with my wikivacation .... :-) Cheers ! -- PFHLai 18:35, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
It's awfully redudant to for me to say Major League Baseball on CBS is a television program that airs on CBS. I fully aware that they generally don't refer to what CBS originally stood for now a days. However, this particular article isn't meant to focus on specific aspects of the present. TMC1982 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- I do not see that any difference from the current intro sentences on CBS News, CBS Sports, etc. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 12:09, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
FYI, I added the entry to Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/October 1 after removing it from Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/October 11. Afterward, someone requested that the October 11 entry be restored with modified wording for this year (given the fact that October 1 already has passed). I noted at Talk:Main Page#On this day that we would have to decide which anniversary is more noteworthy for next year, and I intended to remove the October 11 entry (which I believe to be the weaker of the two) tomorrow. —David Levy 20:36, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Photo Deletion P.A. O Siochain
I was given no prior notice that there was a problem here. This point arose a year ago and was clarified I understood. I posssess the original Image which was taken by an Irish delegation photographer 45 years ago and oresented to the subject imaged. If reload the image again can you hint what I need to declare to avoit deletion again. Thank youOsioni 01:01, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Editing Significant rivalries in the NFL
I was just wondering if you had any advice on editing the rather odd assortment that makes up Significant rivalries in the NFL. It seems to me that it consists of historically clear rivalries, matchups that are called rivalries just because there has been a good game or significant trade or the formula of (team that I like) + (team they've played multiple times) = rivalry. And I think it just needs a lot of work. Should most of the work be conducted on the talk page or done wholesale. There are some 'rivalries' which no one other than a fan would support. Thanks for your help and being the first to contact me. Backstroke54 07:33, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Responsible Citizen
It is so unwise and nothing but telling the lie others about what we repeately say" we love our country Ethiopia". regarding the National Anthem. You are not obliged nether to hear it nor to sing. So let's repect what the majority of the people you are supposedly love.
After all as far as transmiting false stories about your country is tantamout to desertion.
If you do like to change the anthem to the best of you wish, please, form or join a political party, win a majority seat in the House and adopt it.
If so I will be happy to accept it .
I may not have to read replies, beacuse I have lots of things to do

Aztec written documents?
To Codec Sinaiticus:
Do you know of any existing evidence of Aztecs' writings? I would greatly appreciate specific references.
Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DonKichot (talk • contribs) .

License tagging for Image:Flag of Iceland.svg
Thanks for uploading Image:Flag of Iceland.svg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:05, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
California SR infobox discussion
Zzyzx11, you are invited to participate in the (definitely less structured than WP:SRNC) WT:CASH infobox discussion. Please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas. --Rschen7754 (talk - contribs) 01:20, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Cal Template Cats
Now that you've gone and started reverting the categories I put in ... let me explain why I did what i did ... The group of people who are in WP SoCal, do not also necessarily work on WP Cal. The templates in question happen to be used by both WikiProjects. I wasn't as much concerend about the hierarchies as I was making them available to people who might not be looking in another section. I'm not going to bother inserting them again ... --evrik 14:59, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
- More power to ya ... if you look at my edits on the WP Cal and SoCal pages ... I have been trying to make them more useful ... so anything that does that is okay by me. --evrik 15:09, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Category Quesiton
In the category software engineering there is a sub category systems analysis that has categories under it but it is not showing when you expand the "+". Any thoughts or do you know who could help me with this? Philosopher06 16:32, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Hi, I recall that you contributed to the FAC discussion for the article on Felice Beato that I nominated some time ago, and I'm wondering if you now wouldn't mind checking out the Pierre Rossier article (on another 19th century photographer in Asia), which is a FAC? It's been languishing on the FAC page for several weeks and has four "support" votes (with none opposed). Thanks for your help! Pinkville 02:23, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
RE: Results
When countries (which in this case inhabit a quarter of a billion people) go on to elect their national leader, that is a major development and is ITN-worthy. We don't wait for the results to mention that it is happening (esp. when it involves a sizable portion of the planet's population). Thx. El_C 14:26, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Because we disagree, I am posting another discussion about this on Talk:Main Page (along with the other complaints of ITN being "US"-centric. etc. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 14:29, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- It's best to explain why you disagree. Also, Template talk:In the news is the propper venue. El_C 14:32, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I am posting to both since more people read Talk:Main Page than Template talk:In the news. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 14:34, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- That makes no sense. It's fine linking to it, but we don't want to have the discussion split (I don't feel like repeating myself at both places). I note with regret your continued neglect to respond to my above comment. El_C 14:47, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
