James Marsden's ancestor

[edit]

Hi there. I've reverted your change to the Birchover article again, I'm afraid. The connection between James Marsden and Birchover is very tenuous - such a remote relationship really doesn't warrant mention in the article, I'm afraid. Also, you have not provided a citation - see WP:CITE. Wikipedia is not a free-for-all, or a repository for any scrap of information. Please take time to understand Wikipedia's policies, and please don't WP:EDITWAR. Dave.Dunford (talk) 13:02, 3 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Labrador Retriever, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. The sourced info in the article says the Labrador Retriever was first bred in the UK -- if you can find reliable sources that explicitly state that the breed is Canadian or Canadian-British then go ahead and add them in Blue Edits (talk) 11:06, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Scottish people, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Per 11th Feb and 1th Sep., please stop adding this material to the article. It is not the subject of article, certainly superfluous in the lede and misplaces and misrepresents the following ref. To add, please also stop forcing unnecessary Oxford commas upon articles. Unless there is an ambiguity to be resolved or for internal consistency in the article (and this does not seem to be the case in your edits) the lack of a comma is a perfectly valid style choice and should not be alterd purely on the basis of your own personal preference.
