I do not actually edit there. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 09:06, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@DeepfriedokraCan you send my request to a Palatine German editor to create at least the article for Albania? The article for Tirana is to be created: https://pfl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middawaida:Doc_Taxon/Tirane but needs to be fixed. The article for Albania is missing. Thanks Mzeka95 (talk) 09:43, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I never go there. Perhaps you can ask yourseld. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 11:38, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Translation of article for the Hebrew Wikipedia

[edit]

Greetings, Mzeka! I received a Wiki email from you with the text:

I am from Albania and I have a request. I have seen on Wikipedia that you are native to the Hebrew language or you understand it. I want to request from you to create an article for the "Albanian passport" if you can, like is on this link on the English Wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albanian_passport
I am requesting to you since I found that you have made some edits on the article for Albania in the Zulu language spoken in South Africa: https://zu.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=I-Albaniya&action=history and since I found that you are native to the Hebrew language or understand it, I would like from you to create the article for the "Albanian passport on the Hebrew Wikipedia".
Please create it if you want and if you can. I would be so happy. Thanks.

What was unclear from your reading of my User profile: I only translate from Hebrew to English, and that only rarely. My native language is English, with fluent spoken Hebrew acquired as an adult but unschooled in written expression. Most of my contributions are in Wikidata (31 K of ca. 70K across all projects).

My search just now for the process of locating content translators led to meta:Babylon (and other places less helpful). With my 18 years experience in multiple Wikipedia language projects, this looks awfully complex. Remember that the vast majority of contributors are volunteers, and those with translation skills are in high demand. Hebrew speakers in Israel (Wikimedians among them) are at present heavily impacted by the ongoing war. (I myself have been displaced from my home and living in temporary quarters for an entire year.)

The global Mzeka95 account appears to be recently created. If your goal is to improve content on Albania in multiple Wikipedia language projects, may I suggest you become familiar with d:Wikidata and commons:Wikimedia Commons where your knowledge of English allows you to make contributions of data and image content usable across the scope of Wikimedia.

For the sake of tracking a shared discussion, I prefer not using the email function. You're welcome to contact me at my User talk page in the English Wikipedia. Perhaps I can give more useful advice. Keep learning the Wiki rules and find your way to contribute. Best regards, -- Deborahjay (talk) 12:44, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Deborahjay Can you request the article for "Albanian passport" to be created to a native Hebrew Wikipedia user which you know? I would thank you so much if you will make this request for me. As I don't know who to contact. Thanks Mzeka95 (talk) 22:59, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Here is how I've handled your inquiry:
  • I consulted the Help Desk on the Hebrew Wikipedia about where to post an EN:HE translation request for this purpose.
  • The suggestion for an optimal result: identify a contributor on similar topics in the HE WP and approach that user directly.
  • I posted to that user's Talk page in the HE WP explaining your request, with links to the article in English, its Wikidata item, and suggestions of several language WPs (de, es, fr) with a briefer text and good layout.
I'll update you when there's a response. -- Deborahjay (talk) 08:01, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Deborahjay Ok. Thank you so much. I hope that the article for "Albanian passport" will be created on the Hebrew Wiki as soon as possible. Regards Mzeka95 (talk) 08:24, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
