[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Colorado Translators", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it gives the impression of shared use.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Please unblock my account

Request reason:

I understand that my username implied that the account represents a group. I have proposed a new username which was accepted. My new username is MR11250. The page I created was meant for informational purposes only, not for advertising or promotion. The Colorado Translators Association is included on the list of translator and interpreters associations (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_translators_and_interpreters_associations) and I intended to create an informational page similar to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Translators_Association or the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_England_Translators_Association. Could you please help me improve my page in a way that it is not identified as promotion or advertising. Thank you! MR11250 (talk) 22:32, 28 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

As you note, the username issue is now resolved. However, please revew conflict of interest and paid editing. You won't be unblocked to edit about your association, at least in the short term. If that's your only goal here, this is the end of the road for your Wikipedia career. If you want to edit about other topics unrelated to your conflict of interest as a general contributor, please tell what those topics might be and agree to not edit about your organization. You might later be permitted to propose edits related to your organization as edit requests, if you build up a good edit history over a period of time(say six months) showing that you understand Wikipedia guidelines. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 00:03, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I will also note that Wikipedia is not for merely providing information. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia which summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage say about article subjects that meet Wikipedia's special definition of notability; in this case, the definition of a notable organization. Wikipedia has no interest in what an organization wants to say about itself, only in what others say about it. 331dot (talk) 00:03, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
