Hey fellow Hong Kong man. Do you think this could reach GA Status? I'm considering a GAN. Spiderone (talk) 10:42, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Possibly misinterpreted edit?

Hi Matthew - hope you don't mind me butting in, but I think you may have been accidentally unfair in your comments at User talk:Istcol. I can see that it certainly does look like he'd made a vandalous edit, but checking the recent history of the page he edited, it looks like he's doing pretty good anti-vandalism work on it, and he's been doing good gnomework elsewhere (he's also a sysop on another language's WP, BTW). It looks likely it was a case of two editors both trying to revert an edit at about the same time. Grutness...wha? 00:24, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Jorge Ortiz

Hi. Why did you change Jorge Ortiz to include his middle name Alberto? He is never referred to by his full name. Aikclaes (talk) 15:32, 20 July 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aikclaes (talkcontribs)

Dude, can you change the squad a little. Take out Milton Aguilar, because he plays for Santos Laguna. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kido477 (talkcontribs) 21:36, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Marco Aurnotovic

That cite that I added is quite ok, and can not be edited, as far as I can see. Here is a google search for it [[1]] his father was serbian and his mother austrian. There is not disputr that his father was serbian (Off2riorob (talk) 21:28, 7 August 2009 (UTC))

I would appreciate a response to my question. (Off2riorob (talk) 20:24, 8 August 2009 (UTC))

Just look at Zlatan_Ibrahimović, Milan Đurić, good example. Matthew_hk tc 20:28, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
Aurnotovic is not an austrian name is it? There is no dispute anywhere on the net in duspute of the comment that his father was bosnian. The link I provided for you shows plenty of links to pretty good citations, we do not have to have an interview, it is not contested or controversial in any way. The citation I added is fine. (Off2riorob (talk) 21:17, 8 August 2009 (UTC))
an adopted son can also have a Yugoslav surname. Verifiability is the policy of wikipedia. Matthew_hk tc 21:31, 8 August 2009 (UTC)
I am sorry, but I dispute your edit and request revertion to my edit, which was cited and is not controversial in any way. Your comment, that he might be adopted is a bit beyond the pale. regards. (Off2riorob (talk) 02:10, 9 August 2009 (UTC))

Dalibor Škorić

Hi Mat, thanx for helping me in some pages. I see you added a Category:Bosnia inmigrants to Serbia to Dalibor Škorić page. He is born in Knin wich was the capital city of Republic of Serbian Krajina but today it belongs back to Croatia, not Bosnia. So, he is a Serb fom Croatia. Is there any other reason wy you added that category? Would you mind if I delete it? Regards FkpCascais (talk) 21:08, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Oussama Essabr

Hi Mat. I see you deleted me O.Essabr from my lower league list. There is a source [[2]] but it´s not quite clear if he get to play, was he loaned?... and I couldn´t find anything else about it. I´ll leave it as it is for now, removed, until new info pops up. If you find something about him let me know, ok? Thanx. FkpCascais (talk) 17:13, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Playerhistory.com does not have Essabr record at Serbia. transfermarkt.de is editable by fans, may be another joke likes injured Matteo Guardalben transferred to Serbia. Or possibly there is a namesake. also, this link show nothing [3] Matthew_hk tc 19:39, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it looks that way. You know, I did that list based on the lists of players from the Transfermarkt historic squads (the ones showing the list of players that have played since 2007, like from the link I gave you), Weltfussball/Worldfootball, Playerhistory and National-football-teams websites, plus wiki clubs pages and notable players lists. I had him in my list of doubts in my talking page, and Latouffedisco helped me with some names. Thanx for the correction. FkpCascais (talk) 02:22, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

Should these pages not be named xxxx-xxxx in Swiss football?  pablohablo. 05:01, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Yes, i did not notice that, jusy like 2000 in Brazilian football, 2000-01 in English football . Matthew_hk tc 05:03, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Standard naming for a period of one year is 1999/2000 football season in Switzerland. -- User:Docu at 12:25, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Warning

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Charles K. Kao. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Alan (talk) 13:56, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Request reason:

The edit war is started by User:Alanmak for massive use of flag (7 flags) and adding Hong Kong "nationality/citizenship" to Kao. Firstly the is no such Hong Kong nationality and Kao has already naturalized as British and under Chinese nationality law, Kao cannot have Chinese nationality. And no source Kao wish to renounce foreign nationality to have Chinese nationality (No dual nationality allowed in Chinese). It is User:Alanmak adding useless information.
For dispute about his first University degree, yes it is some-like edit war

Decline reason:

I am declining your request for unblock because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    • understand what you have been blocked for,
    • will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    • will make useful contributions instead.

Please read our guide to appealing blocks for more information.  Sandstein  15:17, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Charles K. Kao has ROC nationality

I added his nationatily, but you deleted it. If you can read Chinese, please read the discussion page of Kao's Chinese wiki. Thanks. http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:%E9%AB%98%E9%8C%95 --70.66.24.95 (talk) 19:41, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
