Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Ohjusteatit!, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! @RhinosF1: Thank you for offering help! I'm able to add the code {{paid}}, but I don't know how to cite my employer. Anything else you would like to suggest is most appreciated. I am trying...and I'm trying to be transparent and open in my profile. Thanks!

Please read the documentation for the template and tell me the information and I will add it for you. RhinosF1 (talk) 20:48, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

My employer is Carrie Luce Forsythe.

I'll do it now for you. Thanks for cooperating and good luck editing. RhinosF1 (talk) 20:59, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@RhinosF1: I really appreciate it!  Done Just a quick note please sign talk page messages with ~~~~ Thanks, RhinosF1 (talk) 21:02, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... (your reason here) --Ohjusteatit! (talk) 20:02, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to edit my description and take the name of my website out.

Make the change and I will review the nomination. RhinosF1 (talk) 20:03, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's been deleted, you need to contact the person who deleted it. RhinosF1 (talk) 20:04, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Article Writing

Please read the WP:COI and WP:PAID guidelines. You need to read this before writing further articles. RhinosF1 (talk) 20:02, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not for advertising

[edit]

According to your own statement on your (now deleted) userpage, you get paid to add personalities and bands to Wikipedia. It's quite unusual that people try to advertise their paid editing on Wikipedia itself! Since the informative post from RhinosF1 at the top of the page is quite long, I'll quote here the most relevant part of it: "If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing." Please click on the links for more information. Wikipedia is not for advertising. If you continue to add promotional material without first complying with our rules, you will be blocked. This applies not just to creating articles, as RhinosF1 says, but to all editing. Bishonen | talk 20:06, 21 January 2019 (UTC).[reply]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Disclose paid editing by using {{paid}} on your user page. RhinosF1 (talk) 20:23, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Please use your user page for the notice, if you post here your employer and any other information you want to declare I can help you do it. RhinosF1 (talk) 20:33, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. 331dot (talk) 21:29, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Regarding your email, making a full disclosure of your paid editing is a requirement and I appreciate that you are willing to do so. That being said, promotional editing is prohibited on Wikipedia, whether it be in article, user, or draft space. As your draft article was overtly promotional it was deleted as such. No amount of disclosures allow editors to use Wikipedia as a platform for promotion.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:40, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Ponyo: As I've interacted with them (and was the one who reported to WP:UAA based on the article in question), I would like to make a comment. I personally think that the User has shown that they will cooperate with users throughout Thier short time here and genuinely misunderstood policy. I do not personally think that if they were allowed to return they would violate policies and could have the potential to go on an improve the encloypedia. I would like to suggest that the user is advised to chose a more appropriate username and is allowed to continue to edit as long as they do not make further overly promotional drafts. RhinosF1 (talk) 21:53, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If I was reviewing this block, I would want the user to agree to not edit about their clients. 331dot (talk) 21:55, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I would allow as long as they agreed to ensure all articles met notability rules within 30 mins of being created and were well sourced using independent sources. I would also suggest limiting the articles they create and advise them to remain seek advice before submitting drafts for a review or even requesting articles and working with volunteers to build articles. I personally think they're mistakes were honest misjudgements and assume Good faith should be taken into account. 22:04, 21 January 2019 (UTC)
I'm skeptical that they can do that, however, any other admin is welcome to unblock if they see merit in doing so without further consulting me, using whatever criteria they see fit. 331dot (talk) 22:07, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • As you have access to this page, there is no need to correspond via email. You have explained that your intent is to create a page for Carrie Luce Forsythe as well as the band LOAD. As a business person she in no way meets Wikipedia's notability criteria. Creating a couple of Ltd./Inc. companies to hold your investments does not make one a notable business person. The band she fronts could possibly meet WP:BAND, but Forsythe herself does not merit a standalone article.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:02, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ponyo Thank you. I'm trying to figure out how to navigate the site still and put in the appropriate tags for communication. I appreciate your help and the information. My next question is how do I edit my username as it's suggested it is not appropriate? Ohjusteatit! (talk) 22:07, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A change is username can be requested using {{unblock-spamun|New Username|Reason why you should be unblocked}}RhinosF1 (talk) 22:09, 21 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

Reason: admin suggested the username Ohjusteatit! is not appropriate. I would like to change it to Seaphee Ohjusteatit! (talk) 22:14, 21 January 2019 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficiently convincing for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. Yamla (talk) 12:19, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
