[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Longhair\talk 08:36, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I was not intending on promoting anything, just making adjustments with incorrect information

Decline reason:

You forgot to convince us you understand WP:COI and forgot to tell us what to write about instead. Yamla (talk) 10:23, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I repeat, this page is not used to 'advertise' anything. We have additional historical information that we would like to add, possibly some photos that could tie into our 'About Us- History page'. I am not trying to promote anything. I am the new marketing manager of the school and would like to be able to update our data. I do not think that we wrote 'we are the best school' or anything like that and were wrongly blocked.

Decline reason:

Mentioning edit requests is a start, but I'm still not yet convinced that you understand the policies described here. Allowing you to make edit requests is a waste of time for everyone(including you) if you don't understand exactly what it is we are looking for. We usually ask that be demonstrated through edits in other, unrelated areas, which is what Yamla alludes to above. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:26, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please also understand that we have little interest in what the subject of an article wishes to say about itself. Articles on Wikipedia summarize what reliable and independent sources have chosen on their own to publish about the subject. It's permissible to use primary sources (sources associated with the subject) for basic facts and figures (e.g. date of establishment, enrollment, etc.) - but beyond that, third-party sources are required.

We actively discourage people from writing about their employers or any topics where they have a direct personal or professional association, because it is a conflict of interest (COI). As someone with a COI, you will find it difficult to write from the required neutral point of view, and rely on third-party sources for your sources. At the very least, you should be limiting your involvement with this article to making edit requests on the article's talk page. This gives unaffiliated editors the opportunity to review your proposed changes and suggest revisions.

You also need to review and comply with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure policy. You do not have to be paid specifically to edit Wikipedia for this policy to apply. Being employed by the subject you're editing about is sufficient to trigger this policy. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 14:16, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for replying and clarifying it all so concisely. I would be happy to share the additional Historical Information we have received. I will do as advised and make Edit Requests.
Thank you again and I wish you a great holiday season. AOSRome (talk) 08:44, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
