Welcome[edit]
Hi Arod1247, welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed you are adding the founding location of Norteños to the infobox. Content on Wikipedia should be supported by reliable sources. Do you have a source to cite for this location? I noticed the infobox already includes a founding date and cites a source which does not mention the location you are adding. Thanks. -SpuriousQ (talk) 22:26, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
Hello. My source is the book titled blood in the fields. It mentions that the Salinas valley specifically the city of Salinas was the launchpad for the nortenos. I am unsure how to put the citation because wiki text is still unfamiliar to me. Arod1247 (talk) 09:25, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
It mentions that the Salinas street gang “Salinas East Market” or SEM is indeed the oldest norteño gang. This citation can be found In page 9. Arod1247 (talk) 09:57, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks ok. Then we can cite this with {{cite book|title=Blood in the Fields: Ten Years Inside California's Nuestra Familia Gang|author=Julia Reynolds|publisher=Chicago Review Press|date=2014|page=9}}. I see the text on Amazon. -SpuriousQ (talk) 12:11, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for trying to add the citation, I've fixed it. -SpuriousQ (talk) 21:58, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
Thank You. I tried to add it myself but I messed up. Perhaps I should reconsider retiring haha. I appreciate you taking the time to add it. Best regards, Arod1247 (talk) 23:26, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
