Welcome[edit]

Hi Arod1247, welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed you are adding the founding location of Norteños to the infobox. Content on Wikipedia should be supported by reliable sources. Do you have a source to cite for this location? I noticed the infobox already includes a founding date and cites a source which does not mention the location you are adding. Thanks. -SpuriousQ (talk) 22:26, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. My source is the book titled blood in the fields. It mentions that the Salinas valley specifically the city of Salinas was the launchpad for the nortenos. I am unsure how to put the citation because wiki text is still unfamiliar to me. Arod1247 (talk) 09:25, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It mentions that the Salinas street gang “Salinas East Market” or SEM is indeed the oldest norteño gang. This citation can be found In page 9. Arod1247 (talk) 09:57, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks ok. Then we can cite this with {{cite book|title=Blood in the Fields: Ten Years Inside California's Nuestra Familia Gang|author=Julia Reynolds|publisher=Chicago Review Press|date=2014|page=9}}. I see the text on Amazon. -SpuriousQ (talk) 12:11, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for trying to add the citation, I've fixed it. -SpuriousQ (talk) 21:58, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You. I tried to add it myself but I messed up. Perhaps I should reconsider retiring haha. I appreciate you taking the time to add it. Best regards, Arod1247 (talk) 23:26, 22 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
