Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Kinu t/c 15:48, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

{unblock-spamun|jbenwell1|I apologise, I was unaware that I was not able to make a username specifically for the charity for which I work. I still hope to update the page for that charity, since its history has not been updated since 2012 and there are various amendments which need to be made to its description, but I now hope to do so in a personal capacity.}

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I apologise for my initial edits appearing to be advertising or promotion. I had hoped to update the history of the Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country with various notable dates and projects, and I had referenced them all with the various external sources which recorded them, including the Government's own website. The page as it currently stands has a small list of notable dates and I had continued to record them in that manner. I had not linked to any sites which would benefit the charity and there is no monetary benefit to myself or the charity in making these amendments, I simply wanted to bring our page up to date. I hope to be unblocked and allowed to make more comprehensive changes to the page, which I will endeavour to make more detailed than simply a list and do justice to the organisation itself whilst remaining impartial.

Decline reason:

This does not convince me you understand WP:COI and WP:PAID. Yamla (talk) 21:19, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Only one open unblock request is required at a time.

Please be aware that since you are employed by this organization, you are considered to be a paid editor according to Wikipedia's paid editing disclosure policy. You do not have to be paid specifically to edit Wikipedia; your employment with them is enough for this policy to apply.

You should take time to review Wikipedia's guidelines on editors with a conflict of interest (simplified version here), and the procedure to make edit requests instead of directly editing this organization's article. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 21:09, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
