Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Cwgc, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Not the first, and not the last

[edit]

Australian authority acronym to actually deal with an article on the subject of the authority acronym.

It is not the usual role of someone representing the authority to actually edit the article - see the very specific and by-the-rules requests at

Talk:University_of_Notre_Dame_Australia - item 6 and down. Is a very good way to proceed, if in fact you represent cwgc in some way.

Please note that your edits must have good edit summaries to clarify why items are being changed.

If you do not wish to be so public about the issues - then you are welcome to try the Wikipedia:Volunteer_Response_Team if you have problems with content.

Thanks for your attention to the problems. If you are not in fact employed or related to the commission in any way, I strongly suggest that you change your username, to prevent further misunderstanding. Thanks. JarrahTree 13:29, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please understand what the message is about

[edit]

If you cannot clarify which you are - either connected with the cwgc or not - or actually establish why you are editing items - there is no such thing as a fact on wikipedia - what there is material that is WP:V from WP:RS and which utilise WP:CITE, so that there is no WP:OR. MOS

[edit]

WP:MOS does not allow your most recent edit - external links are not to replace text in that way. The revert also changed your edits lower down the article, please do not mix up the inappropriate usage of an external link in the lead with other edits lower down. Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username. It also appears that your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization, person or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest. You may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Nick-D (talk) 10:35, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If you have a relationship of some kind to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, please also see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and ensure that any future editing you take part in complies with it. Regards, Nick-D (talk) 10:36, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
