There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 15:54, 14 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

Fist of all I apologize for having violated Wikipedia rules so blatantly, I wished to disclose my conflict of interest but I could not understand how to do so due to unexperience. I am an employee of the architecture firm Christ & Gantenbein, nonetheless the information I wish to publish are of general interest, and no promotional material. If you unblock my page I will disclose my conflict of interest and users will be able to delete parts of the page they judge does not fit the wikipedia guidelines

Requested username:

Request reason:

See above reasons, the previous username was already in use.

Decline reason:

The username issue is now resolved. However, the other elements of the block still need to be addressed. To be unblocked:

If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organization, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets.

So we know understanding is mutual, please state your understanding/response to each item in your own words.

I'm sorry that this message could not be more favorable. 331dot (talk) 16:57, 14 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thank you Boing! said Zebedee for renaming my page appropriately, I will address your remarks in my request for unblock below: *"you must confirm that this account is used by one individual only" I confirm that this account is used only by myself.

  • "you must agree to abide by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use and disclose any paid relationship in accordance with the paid contributor policy" Once unblocked, if I intend to create a page or make edits to an existing page for which a COI exists, I will make sure to disclose my conflict of interest appropriately in order to allow other users to review the content or edits I wish to create.
  • "you must agree to avoid creating or directly editing articles related to your organization (requested edits will still be permitted)" Once unblocked I will make sure to disclose my conflict of interest appropriately in order to allow other users to review the content I intend to create or edit. With particular reference to the page I was blocked for, for which of course a COI exist, Christ&Gantenbein is a well-known Swiss architectural practice that designed important public buildings such as the extension of the Kunstmuseum in Basel as well as the Swiss National Museum in Zurich, the office is already referenced in several wikipedia pages. Emanuel Christ and Christoph Gantenbein are the founders of the company and in 2018 became Full-professors of Architecture and Design at the ETH in Zurich, further adding to the interest of their profile for the public. The text I had contributed was objective and informative without marketing-publicity elements. In view of all this considerations, there seem to be several reasons to allow addition of the entry to the Enciclopedia. If I am not allowed to create the entry myself, i will suggest it for creation by other users.
  • "*you must indicate what areas of Wikipedia you intend to edit in the future" I will mainly edit pages related to contemporary architecture figures, public buildings, architecture events and exhibitions. Thank you for considering my request--Cladilecce (talk) 17:34, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficiently convincing for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. — O Still Small Voice of Clam 18:42, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I am considering this request, but your response to the questions still makes me uneasy. It seems that you intend to mostly edit in areas which at least skirt around a conflict of interest, if not directly involve it and you don't really seem to understand that you shouldn't make edits to articles where you have such a conflict of interest. GoldenRing (talk) 11:41, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is disclosing one's conflict of interest not enough if one wishes to create a page that is useful for the encyclopedia and not of marketing/promotional nature?Cladilecce (talk) 15:01, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Keep in mind that usefulness is not the metric by which we determine what content Wikipedia has; notability determines what merits an article here. Something can be very useful but be totally inappropriate for an encyclopedia. Many businesses, for example, think it is very useful to them and their customers to create an article about themselves, but we only have articles about businesses that meet the notability guidelines for businesses(WP:ORG). 331dot (talk) 15:59, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Christ & Gantenbein fully meets the criteria notability, since they have built two public museums in Switzerland:Swiss National Museum as well as Kunstmuseum Basel, as well as a folly in the public sculpture park Jinhua Architecture Park in collaboration with artist Ai Weiwei. Moreover they are Full Professors of Architecture at ETH Zurich Faculty of Architecture. So beyond been a business they play an important social and cultural role in their country as well as internationally. Cladilecce (talk) 16:13, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
