Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. SmartSE (talk) 16:12, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Sorry, I didn't realise I had to use my actual name when creating the account.

Decline reason:

You forgot to address your inappropriate edits and you forgot to tell us what you'd write about instead. Yamla (talk) 17:30, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

DISCLOSURE: I work for Claranet and was asked to make the edits on behalf of the CEO Charles Nasser.

CONVINCE: I was just given a Word doc with the changes needed, and although I read through them, I didn't feel there was anything in the new edits that had a more sales vibe than what is there originally. I am happy to request the wording is adjusted to meet with Wikipedia's guidelines, based off your feedback.

DESCRIBE: Below I have listed what the page currently has, and what I was asked to DELETE and REPLACE WITH.

EDIT 1. DELETE: Claranet provides network, hosting and managed application services in the UK, France, Germany, The Netherlands (Benelux), Portugal, Spain, Italy and Brazil.

1. REPLACE WITH: Claranet modernise and run critical applications, data, and infrastructure for over 10,000 business customers in the UK, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, Brazil, and the USA.

EDIT 2. DELETE: Charles Nasser founded the ISP in 1996[1] and by 1999 had 150,000 subscribers.[2]

Claranet has grown its business through a number of acquisitions, including Netscalibur in 2003,[3][4] via net.works uk in 2004[5][6] and in 2005 Amen Group, via net.works Europe and Artful.[7][8] In 2012 Claranet acquired Star Technology.[9]

2. REPLACE WITH: Charles Nasser originally founded the company in early 1996 as one of the first Internet Service Providers. Over time, Claranet has evolved its services in hosting and more broadly now in helping businesses modernise their IT. Claranet is now a leading provider of Managed Networks, Workplace, Cloud, and Cybersecurity services.

EDIT 3. DELETE: The company has annualised revenues of circa £375 million, over 6,500 customers and over 2,200 employees. On a constant currency basis, revenues have increased four times in under five years. Claranet was recognised as a ‘Leader’ in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting, Europe (2016) for the fourth consecutive year and holds Premier Partner status with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.

3. REPLACE WITH: Claranet has gained a wide range of awards and industry accreditations. The company was a Leader for the fifth consecutive year in Gartner’s 2018 Magic Quadrant for Managed Hybrid Cloud Hosting and was positioned as a Market Leader in the 2020 ISG Provider Lens™ for Public Cloud Solutions and Services Quadrant. In 2021, Claranet also entered Gartner’s Magic Quadrant in the Managed Workplace Services (MWS) category in Europe.

EDIT 4. DELETE: In 2017 Claranet acquired French company Oxalide and ITEN Solutions, revolutionising the IT market in Portugal.[10][11]

4. REPLACE WITH: Claranet has all three audited certifications from the big three hyperscalers: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Platform.

EDIT 5. DELETE: On 5 July 2018, Claranet acquired NotSoSecure.[12]

5. REPLACE WITH: The company has annualised revenues of over £400 million and over 2500 employees.

Decline reason:

Your proposed changes suggest you are doing a good job with marketing communications; however, they would be rejected from Wikipedia as promotional. That you don't recognize these as "having a more sales vibe" is itself the problem. Other than your employer's business, what are you interested in editing? --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 22:41, 12 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, new to this form of "messaging" - it seems weird to give new users the option to do something they are not permitted to do. Maybe in future updates to the system, this could be looked at - where when an admin blocks something, it can not be edited by the person under review? — Preceding unsigned comment added by ClaranetMarcomUK (talkcontribs)

Edit requests will not be considered from an account that is currently blocked. Your block request will have to be successful first before any edits you request will be considered.
We also require that all content is sourced to reliable, third-party sources. We do not change content simply to please the preferences of the article's subject. Readers expect plainly factual articles, sourced reliably and worded neutrally, written independently of their subjects.
If your only reason for being here is to edit the article about your employer, it is unlikely that you will be unblocked. If you wish to be an individual contributor editing topic areas outside of your conflict of interest, then your chances will be more favourable. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:13, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
