Great radio show

Stewie- First off: great radio show. You remind me of me when I was younger, I used to broadcast (via SHOUTcast) a live radio show that ran after Off the Hook called Off the Hook: After Dark. Keep it up! I am however, concerned about the usage of your (possibly) real name in the introduction of your show, and on your userpage. Would you consider removing it and going by your online handle? I raised this same concern at User talk:Keeper76#Funny_behavior. xenocidic (talk) 21:33, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Radio Wikipedia

Is is possible that I could help out with the show? If so, I would love to host it with you sometime. I have a mic ready if you would like to. RedThunder 00:56, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Also, I could be like one of those reporters on news stations that writes stories and reports them from another location. Just an idea. Also, do you have an .OGG file converter? If not, I might not be able to do it. RedThunder 11:40, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
I've got a short clip (ad for WP VG) but still trying to encode it to .ogg. Might not have it in for your press deadline =). xenocidic (talk) 15:20, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Here you go . Thanks! xenocidic (talk) 15:32, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Episode 4

Great show, might I suggest starting to report how many new articles since the last broadcast, rather than how many articles? (i.e. "Since last broadcast, over 7500 new articles have been added to Wikipedia's nearly 2.4 million articles.) xenocidic (talk) 16:06, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Hrm, if I can figure out what to talk about, I'll try to have something to you by the end of day, but I might not come up with anything particularly interesting. =) xenocidic (talk) 16:10, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
What about if I gave an analysis of the FritzpollBot discusion/debate? P.S. It might be a good idea if you refactored everything from your talk page about Radio Wikipedia over to WT:RADWP, or at the very least start discussing it there, for centralization purposes. xenocidic (talk) 16:18, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Yep, don't worry - I figured that's what you meant =). xenocidic (talk) 17:31, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
I dropped a link to my segment at WT:RADIOWP. xenocidic (talk) 18:43, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

User page design support pages

I came across the MfD on your user page design page, and your discussion on user design support pages that overlapped in scope.

"Overlapped"?

Yes, um, past tense.

They don't overlap anymore.  :)

I took the liberty of merging them.

See the department known as the User Page Design Center for the end result.

I hope you like it.

Have fun.

Real name

Thank you. It's not just the fact that you are young, using one's real name on the internet is unwise for a number of reasons. Looking forward to hearing more Radio WP episodes, xenocidic (talk) 14:54, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes. I'll probably try and help out as well with some contributions (whether be it content suggestions or submitting an "ogg" file, if I can figure out how to), when I get some more time. xenocidic (talk) 15:00, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

A Friendly Bit of Advice...

Hey Stewie,

Just a tip for you - I would suggest that you stop calling Radio Wikipedia yours - although you created it and so far are the main editor, it is a wiki, and some people may start making reports against you for breaking WP:OWN.

Also, mind if I add a few areas to the page - about, submit etc?

Thanks,

BG7even 17:39, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi Stewie,
Once you release it to Wikipedia, it is no longer yours - you are contributing to it, as others may also. This is what I was going to add - a page for people to add what they want - either a sound file or text to be added in.
Please remain polite and civil - that comment was fairly rude - I was only trying to help!
Thanks,
BG7even 17:57, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
"I have not said I own it, but I do" - that is what I am on about. You also need to discuss with the Wikimedia Foundation if it's on it's own website, and also ensure that it is still GFDL - as you have released it here, it must be!
Thanks,
BG7even 18:00, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

WP:Spotlight in Radio Wikipedia?

Could you give us a mention please? We've only just restarted and we need to raise awareness. Just pick out any information from the aforelinked page please. Thanks!...... Dendodge .. TalkHelp 18:46, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

I could record something, if you don't want to but I've got a slightly fuzzy mic...... Dendodge .. TalkHelp 18:48, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Re: Radio Wiki

Just wondering why you removed your name? StewieGriffin! • Talk 16:37, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

The reason I removed it? Well, two reasons mainly.
  • Firstly is because its daily. I signed up to see what it was like. I normally browse Wikipedia at work, so can't listen to it there. Only the weekend when I may be able to listen to it, and therefore I dont want to have to listen to five or six in a row.
  • Secondly, because of your voice. Or what I assume is your voice (Correct me if i am wrong btw). You sound like a kid. And I don't listen to the news to hear a whiney voice. No offense, honestly. What I may suggest you do, is get someone else to do the voices. Perhaps someone older? You talk differently to what radio or tv presenters do. Watch the news and listen to the radio, you need to talk normally, like you are talking to someone next to you. Watch this: Its Scotland Today - a news programme in Scotland (where i am from). Note how they talk. If you want to continue with recording it yourself, try to talk like that. Any other questions, give me a shout. ← κεηηε∂γ (talk) 18:49, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
