Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "DCSComputings", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, or website, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or have the appearance of shared use. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:42, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Sparkford. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Hammersoft (talk) 15:42, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. Editing

[edit]

Re: The comments you made on your userpage. The existence of other content on Wikipedia that is not acceptable does not justify the addition of more unacceptable content. Wikipedia relies on editors providing information that can be verified and is notable. The inclusion of every business in Spankford would be an indiscriminate collection of information on Spankford. We are not a guide to Spankford, but an encyclopedia. If you have questions, please feel free to ask here on this talk page or by following the instructions at Wikipedia:Questions. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 15:56, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Re: [1]. Ok, let's take a step back, ok? I know you want to add things to this project. But, simply because something is "true" does not qualify it for inclusion here. It is true there is a tree standing outside my window. That this is true does not make it notable for inclusion here. I could make it verifiable too, by making a web site which was devoted to that tree. Other editors could verify its existence. That doesn't qualify it for inclusion. Please understand, I am not equating any business you are affiliated with to a tree. Just trying to demonstrate why truth isn't enough. What is important to this is understanding primary sources vs. secondary sources. If I start a business, it is not instantly deserving of space in an encyclopedia, no matter how comprehensive the encyclopedia. I could build a web site for the business, and provide it as a source for an article about my business. But, until there are secondary sources supporting the notability of the information, it is extremely likely such an article would be deleted. A reading of Wikipedia:Truth is in order. Thanks, --Hammersoft (talk) 16:07, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also per your comments on your userpage; there is no freedom of speech on Wikipedia. You have privileges here, and are very welcome to edit. But, the only 'rights' any of us have here are the right to leave, and the right to fork. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:16, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on DCSComputings, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hammersoft (talk) 17:43, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your editing

[edit]

Despite my best efforts to educate you on verifiability, notability and 'truth', you've gone ahead and created DCSComputings, with a copy of the content on your userpage. I've tagged the 'article' for speedy deletion per our G11 speedy deletion criteria, and have asked for your account to be soft blocked [2], which means you can create a new account but no longer use this account. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:52, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. If you prefer to be unblocked for the purpose of changing your username to a username which complies with our username policy, so that your contributions with this username are recorded as contributions of your new username and rather than creating a new account, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice instead. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 17:54, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
