[edit]
Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; you are welcome to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Request reason:

I am an employee of 5 years at EnergyICT updating the wikipedia page because unidentified persons added false information and negative comments

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, but per our username policy, users may not have a username that represents a company. While I assume "Dcham" is part of your name, the rest of the username is not allowed. Furthermore, I can see from the changes you made that you did more than simply revert vandalism; editing intended to promote your company is generally not allowed, as we strive to keep all of our articles neutral in tone. As mentioned by Drmies below, edits must also be supported by reliable third=party sources. In order to be unblocked, we will need to ask you to agree to a change of username (you may suggest a new one with the {{unblock-un}} template (replacing "your new username" with the name you would like to use)) and read and understand our conflict of interest guideline as well as the others I have linked to. Thank you. Hersfold (t/a/c) 18:27, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • Since I am the blocking admin, I'll wait for someone else to review this. Two things, though: vandalism happens, and it gets reverted; negative criticism (as the company perceives it) is allowed if verified by reference to reliable sources. Request reason:

Hello - I have requested a new user name "Dchamb" which represents my first and last name, but not my company as you requested. As far as promoting my company goes, I will limit my editing and not include any laudatory or positive comments. Thank you. DchamEICT (talk) 08:24, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline: this request has been superseded by the one further down the page. Favonian (talk) 12:17, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since I blocked your previous account, EICT (talk · contribs), I'll also let somebody else review your request, but I do have one comment and a list of standard questions for such occasions:

Favonian (talk) 10:17, 20 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Even if permitted to change usernames, WP:COI will still exist. As such, the only edits you should do to the company article would be to remove fully unsourced entries. What other article would you plan to edit? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:22, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello - I've requested again a new user name "Dvdchamb" in the hope it doesn't exist yet. Concerning updating the wikipedia information, I will provide links to credible sources, e.g. press releases and the EnergyICT website. Thank you.

Decline reason:

I don't think you understand yet about reliable (or credible) sources. Press releases and the company's website are most definitely not considered reliable sources. (I am not accusing your company of telling untruths, but that was not the case with several other ones I've come across.) Look at WP:RS for a fuller explanation of what is and isn't considered reliable. I'm not sure you understand our policy on conflict of interest yet, either. Look at WP:COI. No, READ both those policies, don't just look at them. Peridon (talk) 12:13, 22 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
