Speedy deletion nomination of Thomas G. Myers Professorship Chair
[edit]Hello Deflim,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Thomas G. Myers Professorship Chair for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Mohit Singh (talk) 18:06, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
Status and Advice
[edit]As reviewing administrator, I removed the deletion tag. Speedy deletion for lack of apparent significance is applicable only in certain specific cases: people, groups, organized events, companies, individual animals. This article is not about any of them. However, this needs references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. By independent, we mean not published by Columbia. And make sure nothing is copied from any previously published material or web site. I advise you to fix the problem, and do this very quickly, before the article gets nominated for deletion by a regular deletion process. DGG ( talk ) 00:24, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Deflim. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Deflim~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell

Transfer constant moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Transfer constant, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 00:10, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
The article Thomas G. Myers Professorship Chair has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
a promotional press release, focussed on the donor. The notable holders dont shpw the chair itself to be notable
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 23:13, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
