A tag has been placed on User:Eadex Technologies, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Theroadislong (talk) 16:01, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 16:08, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, it was not meant as spam or advertising. This was the first time I have submitted anything Wikipedia. The About Us was intended to highlight what the company does. Perhaps the About Us could have been rewritten to better comply, but in all fairness, I really don’t fully understand your policy because other companies use their company name as a username and seem to describe what their company does. I guess it likely doesn’t matter since I have been blocked and slated for deletion.

When I look at the Canadian company page at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_companies_of_Canada and click on various links company name links (Their Username) they seem to be permitted to describe what their company does.

For example:

A - Abilis Solutions (software development, consulting) This company has been tagged since Oct 2010 and seems to describe what the company does.

B - Beaver Machine (vending machine manufacture) Their page states: Beaver Machine Corporation is a bulk vending machine manufacturer located in

C - Cadillac Fairview (property) Cadillac Fairview owns, develops and manages property, malls and large office and retail spaces

It would seem a better approach would have been to provide me with an opportunity fix what didn’t comply instead of a “Speedy Deletion”. It does seem to be a bit harsh for a newcomer to Wikipedia.

Hello Mike. As stated above, our username policy requires that editors register as individuals, not as a company or organization. Please see WP:Username policy.
Your page was deleted because it went beyond describing what your company does; rather, it appeared to be an advertisement for your company's services. If you'd like to write an article about Eadex Technologies, you should read our conflict of interest guideline. If you feel you can write objectively about your employer, you should summarize what reliable sources have written about Eadex Technologies, using your own words. (Please note that "reliable sources" has a relatively narrow meaning on Wikipedia.) Please include references in the new article so readers, including other editors, can verify the facts.
Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 17:53, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
