Empire of Death GA Review Plot 'copyvio'
[edit]Hi. I tried to leave a comment on the GA review but I'm not sure if you saw it or if I even put it in the right place (and didn't want to try too hard to edit the review page too much further for fear or breaking it or otherwise committing a policy faux-pas.
Earwig Copyvio Detector is working for me now and I have been able to investigate properly, and I can confirm that the page Earwig found has copied the plot summary from the Wikipedia article, specifically the plot summary in this Special:Diff/1231312549. I wrote the plot summary in the days immediately after the episode aired, and brought it in under 400 words (per the TV MOS). Subsequent editors added extra information that I initially reverted straight away, but then decided to let the enthusiasm happen and the editing to settle before bringing it back under 400. This 'peak length' plot summary is the one that was copied by the external website. When I did come back to the article, some other editors had tried to fix it but I wasn't convinced they'd made the right cuts, so I rolled the whole plot back to my original sub-400 words plot, and then I think some minor tweaks were made after.
If necessary I can find the diffs of my original edit and the rollback, which would prove beyond doubt that the Wikipedia is the source of the plot summary, but I hope you can see the above is proof enough. best regards, JustAnotherCompanion (talk) 13:45, 3 August 2024 (UTC)

- Hey. The image was reverted since I think the WikiProject has, quite frankly, had enough image dramas and edit wars due to them for a long time. Unless the character has undergone a significant or noteworthy physical change, a new image is not necessary, especially if it is a screenshot of grainier quality. The current image of Sharon is consistent with her current appearance, and therefore, is up to date and not in need of changing. I understand you are learning as an editor, but non-free images are only used to identify a character, not to enforce a personal preference. Thanks for asking, though. I understand you are still learning, so feel free to ask if you need help with anything.
