Thanks

Thanks for the message but I just want you to know that I would have deleted myself as I have already taken the screen shot that I wanted to show-off about and laugh at when I am bored. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Troyeebarua (talkcontribs) 12:54, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

ACC

Hi,

I was just looking over your ACC requests that you have handled and have noticed two requests where obvious mistakes were made. Namely not picking up a username vio at first glance (fortunetly it was taken, but this still means the wrong email would have been sent.) and also marking a requested username as taken when it was a double up of a previous request that was created (in this case it should have been dropped in order to not confuse the end user with 2 conflicting emails).

Please slow down and take the time to access each request properly and always check the username to make sure its not a vio first, then see if its taken :) - Cheers   «l| Ψrometheăn ™|l»  (talk) 14:29, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Thats ok, we all make mistakes but we only learn if they are pointed out ;).   «l| Ψrometheăn ™|l»  (talk) 14:35, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Torture garden (fetish club). Woah, hold on there. Give me a second to edit it... Fences and windows (talk) 01:51, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

speedy deletion of miley cyrus image uploads

Hello Frehley. I only uploaded them as 'screenshots' because i got them from a website and because it would not take a long time to upload them. I did do a little croping and editing on them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shayanshaukat (talkcontribs) 23:33, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Okay but i dont think you would have noticed them if i had uploaded them as my own work or as a US government domain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shayanshaukat (talkcontribs) 23:46, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh boy, even then they would have been violations? Anyway since they are not being used on any article right now may be they should be deleted. Thanks for the info Shayan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shayanshaukat (talkcontribs) 00:00, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Editions of Rasa (BLR)

Please, stop undo my editions, I am working with missunderstanding and 2 meanings of White Russia, this is not vandalism. Another matter is that White Russia is offencife term for Belarusians, because this is wrong translation of White Ruthenia. Thanks.--Rasa (BLR) (talk) 09:20, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for promising ban, but I am underlining, I am not a vandal. Please, look, one third of the articles, that refer to White Russia concern Russian White Movement, that has no common with Belarus (White Ruthenia). Please, read also, the article (esp. Meaning of the name and its translation paragraph) to understand, that this urticle should be situated under White Ruthenia title. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rasa (BLR) (talkcontribs) 09:26, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion of Swish (band) entry by Jimfbleak

Hi Frehly,

I wonder if you might assist me: I hope I have/am following the correct channels, as I am new to Wikipedia. I did post a talk message to Mr. Jimfbleak regarding his speedy deletion of the Swish (band) entry, but just to be sure I thought I would state my case here with you as well.

The reason I am contesting said deletion is as follows:

According to the Notability guideline for musical topics, Swish meets two of the twelve guidelines for musicians and ensembles, numbers 1 and 6.

"A musician or ensemble (note that this includes a band, singer, rapper, orchestra, DJ, musical theatre group, etc.) is notable if it meets any one of the following criteria:

1. It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician or ensemble itself and reliable.[footnotes 1]

  • This criterion includes published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, books, magazine articles, online versions of print media, and television documentaries[footnotes 2] except for the following:

o Any reprints of press releases, other publications where the musician or ensemble talks about themselves, and all advertising that mentions the musician or ensemble, including manufacturers' advertising.[footnotes 3] o Works comprising merely trivial coverage, such as articles that simply report performance dates, release information or track listings, or the publications of contact and booking details in directories. o An article in a school or university newspaper (or similar) would generally be considered trivial but should be evaluated on a case-by-case basis."

Please note that Swish has been the subject of several independent published articles, including in The Boston Globe, New Music Express in London, and CMJ (College Music Journal). Please see http://swishtheband.com/SWISH_PRESS.php for copies of several of these articles/reviews.

Moreover, Swish also meets criteria number 6:

"Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such, and that common sense exceptions always apply."

As Swish's drummer, Patrick Murphy, was and is the founding and current drummer for Dinosaur, Jr., Swish is also relevant for this point as well.

Can you please assist me in having the entry reinstated? In addition, I do not have a copy of the posting and would like to get it back.

I hope this answers any questions you may have. Please let me know if there is any additional information that I may provide to assist in the speedy and prompt reinstatement of this entry.

Sincerely, Lorigregory (talk) 09:31, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Lorigregory you may want to try re-creating the article in a subpage of your userpage (EX: User:Lorigregory/Swish (band)). That way you can redo the article and not have to worry about it being deleted. And once you feel the article meets Wikipedia's music guidelines you can try moving the page back to Swish (band). Just make sure to include valid third-party sources to show that the band does have some notability. You might want to see this article for more help. --FrehleySpace Ace 10:42, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Frehly thank you so much for the reply and the suggestions.
