There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Alexf(talk) 20:01, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The company I work for is an independent Latin record label that has stood the test of time in the music industry (35 years) and has contributed many successful artists and songs to the tropical genres of Bachata, Merengue, Salsa and Latin Jazz. The page was not meant for advertising as listed for the reason of the block. The page is to detail the history and accomplishments of said company and how it has developed through the changing of the competitive music industry. Please, let me know if there is something I need to remove that was causing you to mark it as advertising. Thank you.

Decline reason:

First of all you should review the disclosure requirements explained at WP:PAID. Secondly, your assessment of the company's significance seems impacted by your conflict of interest. Your article cited no sources whatsoever. For example, "the company has amassed thousands of songs in their publishing catalogs, including hundreds of hit singles"? Who says they had hundreds of hits, themselves? The lists of "notable" artists also seemed inflated, even if the company itself were notable enough to be the subject of an article in the first place. I rather do not think Wikipedia would benefit from you writing about your company. Huon (talk) 22:36, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

With all due respect, I am trying to document the history of the company, not make sales. As a record label, we can not benefit from "increased sales" by having a Wikipedia page. Our music is streamed on platforms and how much is sold is determined by the popularity of the artist, not the record label. We are a platform to publish music for artists. The page I am trying to create is no different than others that already exist, for example:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pina_Records https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Music_Latin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Stop_Music

Being a new user, I mistakenly published the page pre-maturely when it should have been left as a draft. I was still in the process of adding information and did not even get to adding sources before I was blocked. "Hits" are songs that have received gold or platinum status of sales, of which we have hundreds. Unfortunately, there is no public source to view exactly how many sales have been made, as that is private accounting data, but given the chance, I will cite as much information as possible from credible websites. The list of "notable" artists was selected based off of their impact, sales and popularity in their respective genres of Salsa, Bachata and Merengue. Unless you listen to that genre of music, they will not be "notable" to you, but I can assure people in those circles will have heard of these artists.

Please consider this and see that I am not trying to create an Ad, as it would not benefit this type of company. I am trying to document the history of a small company that started in New York and stood the test of time over 35 years in a music industry dominated by corporate giants. A company that expanded to publish songs internationally and become recognized by ASCAP and the Latin Grammys, two prestigious organizations in music. Thank you for your time.

Decline reason:

I'm not a marketing expert, but I guess every company benefits from advertising. Anyway, "WP:COI editing is strongly discouraged" in Wikipedia, and if your only desire is to write about your company, I can't unblock you.

You say that the page you are trying to create is no different than others that already exist, but it is actually very different: The pages about those other companies were not written by their employees. Vanjagenije (talk) 21:58, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
