If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Memories Renewed requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 16:49, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Nihonjoe! My name is Julia Takemura Sears with Memories Renewed. I have submitted a request to unblock this account as it was a newbie mistake on my part and nothing malicious or intentionally violating policy. I should have had this page under the draft section, which I had not quite understood at the time of page creation (I had hit "Publish" to save my progress as I could not see another way to do so in the interface I was in). These instructions for unblocking requests state that I must add the special unblock text at the bottom of my talk page, so I tried to create a new section for it as I saw no other way to post at the bottom of this talk page (unless "bottom" meant "reply to this July 2022" post with the text). I'm quite mortified of these errors I have made in an attempt to make an informational page about Memories Renewed, akin to Southtree's Wikipedia page, which was created by former employee of Southtree Shelby Burr while Burr was employed there as their Marketing Coordinator. I believe I have followed the necessary steps for a review of my request, but if I have somehow missed something, I will happily remedy it as soon as I can. 決してわざとこのような間違いを犯したわけではないので、ぜひ御慈悲を。 MemoriesRenewed (talk) 18:49, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am a full-time salaried employee of Memories Renewed creating this Wikipedia page on paid company time. I completely understand why the Memories Renewed page had to be deleted because of how I went about it (besides still being very empty) and why my user account had to be blocked. I had even published the page before it was complete as it was my only understood way at the time to save my progress before I went on my lunch break today when these warning messages appeared. It is my fault for not understanding the rules and guidelines better, as I now see that placing that page in my drafts while I work on it was the wiser choice. This was a huge newbie mistake on my part and will not happen again. My only plan is to make a factual page describing the company of Memories Renewed (its history, short list of services, and reception), akin to Southtree's Wikipedia page, which was created by former employee of Southtree Shelby Burr while Burr was employed there as their Marketing Coordinator.MemoriesRenewed (talk) 18:38, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I have renamed your account, which resolves that aspect of the block. However, as you indicate you still want to promote your company, there are no grounds to remove the block. Wikipedia is not a place for companies to tell the world about themselves and what they consider to be their own history. That's considered promotional here, you don't have to be soliciting customers or selling something. As an encyclopedia, a Wikipedia article about a company must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable company. We aren't interested in what a company says about itself, only in what others completely unconnected with the company choose on their own to say about it. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you are interested in being a general contributor and editing about topics unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 22:39, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please also read WP:OSE as to why it is a poor idea to use other similar articles as a reason for yours. 331dot (talk) 22:40, 27 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for taking the time to review my request and for linking these resources to me, including WP:OSE. I recognize that I fall into the examples listed there from what I said about the Southtree page and user Shelbyburr, which is very embarrassing because I love Wikipedia and its selfless mission, and this doesn't paint me in a positive light. I admit that there is a sense of unfairness that I feel seeing that another paid employee had created a company page and yet I am the one being reprimanded. However, I do recognize that it doesn't change what happened, and pages do not get tagged/reported if no one notices the violations. It's difficult to spot something like this across 6.5 million+ English articles or verify.
My plan for the Memories Renewed page was to use reliable sources such as The New York Times and Wirecutter to talk about the company, not simply create a page with writings from our own website. Sources like The New York Times and Wirecutter have researched our company independently and wrote about us. If what Shelby has accomplished is different than what I am attempting to create, I would be sincerely grateful if that was explained to me because I truly do want to understand.
If using independent sources is not a good enough reason for me to have the chance to create a Memories Renewed page, I will definitely abstain from creating it. If the Wikipedia team will allow, I would still like the privilege to contribute to other pages either way. Barring creation of a Memories Renewed page, I care to contribute to pages related to our industry, such as cameras, sensors, and projectors, which we use everyday here. At the very minimum, I care to provide proper punctuation and grammar for improved readability on English Wikipedia pages, as I have done on a few already.
Thank you again for your time in reading my long reply. Julia Takemura Sears at Memories Renewed (talk) 14:40, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You will need to make another unblock request for someone else to review. 331dot (talk) 15:37, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! I see. I will do so. Thank you! Julia Takemura Sears at Memories Renewed (talk) 15:46, 28 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thank you for taking the time to review my request. I have erroneously published a page about Memories Renewed before it was remotely ready and did not make clear that my intentions were to use independent sources, such as The New York Times and Wirecutter, who have written articles about us. It resulted understandably in an indefinite block because my infraction fell under the promotional category especially since I am currently an employee of Memories Renewed. If the Memories Renewed page is still not allowed to be created based on the independent sources, I would still love to have the privilege to contribute to other topics relevant to our industry, such as cameras, sensors, and projectors, which we use every day. Thank you again for your time.

Closing as stale, you may make a fresh request. 331dot (talk) 10:09, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

@331dot: Can't she disclose and just submit the article to AfC? jp×g 01:58, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

JPxG Disclosing is a must. I've stated my position above; what will happen here is up to the next reviewer. It's a waste of time for everyone involved(including Julia) to submit a draft if it isn't going to meet guidelines and the best way to show that it will is to edit in other areas to build up an edit history demonstrating it. When a company rep like this one says they are going to create a "a factual page describing the company of Memories Renewed (its history, short list of services, and reception)" that usually means they will tell us about the company and what it does, largely sourced to announcements of the company's activities- which does not establish notability for companies. We aren't interested in what the company says is its history and in its offerings. This is why I've said what I did but, again, what happens here will be up to the next reviewer with possibly consultation with the blocking admin. 331dot (talk) 07:59, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
