Your user page, User:JUBSWIFT/sandbox, has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be advertising which only promoted or publicized someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because your account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 09:12, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Would it be okay if the text is like below, because I am still trying to learn and solve the problem. As per below, no company name or websites are mentioned.

World Offshore Day was established to show gratitude to the offshore industry.
Offshore firms located in the Netherlands, have taken the lead in commemorating this day for the first time on September 20, 2023.
They anticipate that World Offshore Day will grow in the coming years, with more companies supporting and celebrating the concept. JUBSWIFT (talk) 10:44, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Before you get that far, you need to follow the instructions provided in the block notice. You haven't yet. 331dot (talk) 13:00, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am using Wikipedia for the first time. We just want to celebrate/register a world offshore day as there are many offshore crew in the world. There is a World Seafarer day, but it's not for offshore and doesn't exist for offshore crew yet. I have deleted any company name or links to websites for the short story

Decline reason:

I think JUB stands for Jack-Up Barge, so that is not an acceptable username - you need something that identifies you as an individual. You still need to:
  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

No response to query below in 16 days. — Daniel Case (talk) 03:14, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't receive any compensation, just want to introduce a world offshore day to thank all offshore crew for their work. There is an existing seafarer's day, but not offshore day which is strange because the offshore world also need recognation.
I have read this morning the paid-contribution disclosure same as for other articles and I can declare to have understanding of the progress now.
When I am unblocked, I would like do the following:
Register an un-official day (World Offshore Day) September 20.
Short text in sandbox to connect with the World Offshore Day as per below:
World Offshore Day was established to show gratitude to the Offshore Industry. JUBSWIFT (talk) 09:07, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"World Offshore Day" doesn't appear to be a notable topic; if anything it looks made up. I cannot find any coverage of this in either English or Dutch.
Even if this does exist, a topic is considered notable only if it has already received significant coverage in multiple reliable and independent sources. Until then, "World Offshore Day" won't be accepted as an article topic. Even if you believe that it might become notable in the future, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. We don't include topics that people believe might become notable over time; they have to be notable now, in the present day. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:05, 2 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have a few questions for you to demonstrate your understanding of Wikipedia policy and guidelines:
  1. What criteria does Wikipedia use to determine if a topic is notable enough to have an article? (WP:N)
  2. Why is it important that information added to Wikipedia is cited with inline citations? (WP:V)
  3. After reading the above, if you still consider World Offshore Day as notable, what sources will you use to show notability? If you do not consider World Offshore Day notable, what articles on Wikipedia will you edit if you are unblocked?
I look forward to your responses. Z1720 (talk) 14:37, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
