Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear. A tag has been placed on Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Knobbe Martens Olson & Bear LLP and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Bart133 t c @ How's my driving? 17:57, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:23, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Given the above history, as reviewing administrator: I have deleted the article. Since the firm is notable, I urge you to do write an acceptable article. But you must follow the instructions given at our Business FAQ, and write according to our format--see our guide to writing Wikipedia articles. We do not use raw html, but rather our own markup--the use of html in the way you have done it is a sure sign that this has ben commercially prepared by a public relations consultant. Good PR people learn about the medium they are writing for, before the write the article--certainly they do if it has ben rejected several times previously. Learn what you need to say, get the third party published refs. you need, and write an acceptable article.

Before you do that, pick a new username that is not the name of the firm. Identify your COI on the user page, however. DGG (talk) 19:04, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:Business' FAQ and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia policies. In addition, the use of a username like yours violates our username policy.

You may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.

Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Usernames that have already been taken are listed here.
