Happy to change my username - My fault I was trying to be honest as to who I was. It can be changed to my name Joe Bone. I do not like to hide behind the computer facade and have been honest and factual from the start.
EXTREMELY UNHAPPY that the factual and correct - non promotional page that was edited for Londons New Years Day Parade (That had no complaints at all in 48 hours) was removed and replaced by the old, incorrect and factually inaccurate page for one sentance and for what seems to be a personal grudge. Very worrying that wikipedia allows this.
The name change I requested to make, to allow the page to be correct has worryingly stayed up and so currently the event is being misrepresented and certain Wikipedia programmers seem to be using their modicum of power to hold personal vendettas. Which is frankly shameful.
I have even volunteered to speak directly and work with those mentioned programmers to delete any potentially incorrect passages of which one in the whole page was highlighted. This has not been forthcoming either. Seemingly a shameful organisation and practice which deeply disappoints myself and will others I am sure.
Hi Shawn, I appreciate that entirely. I was editing and changing factual points. I was not trying to offend by editing - Please respect I am not a computer expert and was simply writing as I know how. I am new to this so perhaps my technique was not correct. However I felt it was important for people to understand destination events limited as they produce the parade. If that causes a problem, then I am very happy to have that page deleted. However I am extremely unhappy that a factually correct page that had been on the site for 48 hours with no complaints and is the type of page to be found on this site was removed for an old and factually incorrect page, seemingly for nothing more than personal reasons. There was no problem with the edits until the creation of the destination page. Thus I am a little confused. I appreciate my username was a conflict. The irony being that I was trying to open regarding who I was. Clearly my fault. However when you say rather silly comments like you will not be missed - Please think of the borough entries and the 1000's of participants who raise money for charity who want more factual information and the 100,000's of spectators trying to find factual and correct information regarding what is factually a very large event. Perhaps you should come and view the event before commenting. Please do not miss me, but please have some respect for the event that is provided free of charge to all spectators and those who participate.
- Those were not "factual points." The article was written as promotional copy for this company and it doesn't belong in an encyclopedia. Wikipedia does not exist to provide an ad platform for Destination Events Ltd, full stop. As for your username, I saw no problem with it, personally. Hi Shawn, they were actually fact, arguably written poorly by myself. I can say hand on heart the page was not promotional copy. I also would not want wikipedia to provide a platform for destination events ltd, so again I am rather missing your point. I feel you might have a personal problem and I am afraid this is all too common for those who seem to trawl computer pages. The London's new years day parade page is to what I am referring and the page was Factual. Perhaps you did not like those facts, sometimes I do not either, but that Shawn is life. Having spoken to those behind wikipedia, the majority of the edited London's new years day parade page was absolutely correct and acceptable. I believe one paragraph was not. So yes I do feel it was a disgrace to remove all the factual elements. If you wish to continue talking about the destination event limited page then there is no point. Whilst it was factual, they are events and all was verifiable, I did accept my writing of it was rushed and in a certain tone which was not as wikipedia would like. However as I have stressed, that was not the case on the London's new years day parade page. Like all who seem to hide behind computers, I would welcome a telephone call or face to face meeting, so that you can you can express your actual motives clearly.
