WikiProject Cryptozoology Emergency
[edit]Just thought I'd give everyone that's a member of WikiProject Cryprozoology a heads up. I've been seeing a lot of that looks like vandalism by Bloodoffox, removing cryptozoology categories and rewording things to appear as though article topics are on mythological creatures. I believe this is an attempt to get his merger proposal for List of Cryptids merged with List of mythological creatures although I cannot be sure. After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

Halloween is a celebration observed in several countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (or the related guising and souling), attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, as well as watching horror films.
