A tag has been placed on MilwaukeeJobs.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. RickinBaltimore (talk) 18:31, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I understand that creating and using a company name for a user account is not allowed but did not know that before. I will not repeat this error. I would like to replace that username with a personal account that I will use for contributions, edits, etc. The contributions I intend to make are about a set of businesses that are not yet on Wikipedia. There is a group of online job search websites (similar to Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com, both of which have Wikipedia pages already) that I would like to enter on Wikipedia. The pages I want to contribute are for popular job search websites (4 total) that have been around since 1994 and given that they are online and have many users, I wanted to provide the public with more information about these sites (4 total).

Decline reason:

This sounds like it would be a violation of WP:PROMO, WP:SPAM, and especially, WP:COI. You are welcome to request another unblock, but you'll want to explain why your contributions would not violate those policies. Yamla (talk) 20:11, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am just trying to post generic information about this business. The language is not advertising-focused or promotional. The page only contains general information about the company. How are Wiki's like Monster.com permitted? Is there something the page needs in order to be allowed? If I removed the list of services, would that be helpful? I also have an article from a magazine talking about the company's growth. Do you recommend I include that somehow? Thank you.

Decline reason:

If marketingspeak like "the leading provider of comprehensive solutions" sounds like generic, general information to you, your conflict of interest is far too strong to write neutrally about the topic. Wikipedia is not a link farm either; it seems you misunderstand the purpose of an encyclopedia. Huon (talk) 21:06, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the feedback. Am I able to request a new username and recreate a page that follows the guidelines?

Procedural decline: One unblock request at a time, please. See below. Huon (talk) 11:12, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've examined the two articles you created, and I'm sorry but I can draw no other conclusion than that they were promotional/SEO attempts. Do you have any connection with any of the companies you wish to write about, and are you writing in a paid capacity in any way? Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:44, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You say you want to "recreate a page that follows the guidelines". How would that page differ from the pages you created before? The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 17:04, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello and thank you for your response. I do have a connection with the company I am posting about but I can put a disclaimer in my user profile for that and I would also change my username to something more personal like my name.

I would do a number of things to meet your recommendations/requirements.

First, I would remove all of the links currently in the article. Second, I would remove language such as "extensive library" and "leading provider". I would change "offering thousands of jobs" to "these jobs". Third, I would add a section about the company's growth, referencing an article from a business publication. (https://www.biztimes.com/2015/12/17/milwaukeejobs-com-to-expand-add-up-to-100-employees/) Fourth, I would reference a Wikipedia page about a professional (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christine_E._Dickson) who cites Local JobNetwork in her article (#27). This reference I would use in providing an example when talking about Employment Resources Fifth, if possible, I would provide links to only 4 total domains in that section, as an example of the related sites (they are part of a network). If this is not allowed, I will not do this.

Thank you for your consideration. Your feedback on making this article possible is greatly appreciated.

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, but I do not think this article is possible (due to a lack of notability). Furthermore, even if Wikipedia could have an article about the company, du to your conflict of interest I do not think you should be the one to write it. Since giving the companies you work for a space on Wikipedia seems to be your sole interest, I do not think unblocking you would improve the encyclopedia.
