Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Request reason:

The page I created for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QA_Apprenticeships doesn't yet mention that we are a govermented-funded entity and does not include any promotional/advertising language that could be deemed unsuitable for Wikipedia. If school and colleges are small educational establishments are allowed articles about their establishments then QA should be too as we aren't much different.

Decline reason:

Being government funded or not is irrelevant to having an article here - even government departments themselves get blocked at times. I would draw your attention to WP:USERNAME as you will not be unblocked under your current name except to request a change of name. I would point out that Wikipedia accounts are for individuals only, and that organisations do not have 'official' accounts. The normal reason for an organisation to try to get a page on Wikipedia is to promote it - by getting enhanced Google placing, for one thing. I would think it very rare for one to purely have the public interest in mind when assigning employee time to the task of creating a page (or when purchasing editing from an outside source). You may be the exception. We can't tell. Please bear in mind that when an article is created, the creator has no power to control the article. Wikipedia is 'warts and all', subject to suitable referencing. The articles about the schools, colleges and whatever are on the same basis as the articles about Dell, BP and so on.
