A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Viacoin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. – Craig Davison (talk) 10:18, 11 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:11, 11 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Requested username:

Request reason:

My proposed new username complies with your username policy.

I am in no way related to any organisation. I am merely interested in an open-source project, that allows anyone to contribute without getting any form of compensation for it.

I am in no way paid or compensated to publish any form of contribution.

  • you indicate what areas of Wikipedia you intend to edit in the future
I intend to create a new article about a cryptocurrency, similar to the approved articles for Bitcoin, Litecoin, Decred, Dogecoin, Vertcoin, Darkcoin etc. I DO NOT intend to violate any of the Wikipedia policies and I will make sure the article will follow the same template the approved articles have.

Decline reason:

Don't try to tell us that there's no financial incentive to promote a cryptocurrency. And promote it you did. You also referred to the draft you wrote as "our page"; that contradicts your later claims that this is not a shared account and you don't have a conflict of interest. Viacoin (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I don't understand the reason of my block. Viacoin is an open-source cryptocurrency, just like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Decred etc. All of these open-source project currently have their own Wikipedia page. I submitted a draft earlier but it got declined because I needed to add more third-party sources. I added 5-6 more third-party articles about Viacoin. Our page isn't meant to serve as advertisement but rather to inform people about the creation of our coin, its history and further development. I hope you could reconsider your decision since I don't see how our page is different from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litecoin or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decred

Decline reason:

We don't permit shared accounts. Additionally, as has already been explained, you are violating WP:COI, WP:PAID (which does not require payment), and WP:PROMO. If you wish to write about something other than cryptocurrency, please follow the instructions provided. Yamla (talk) 19:20, 11 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Viacoin (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

This is not a shared account, I am the only person with access to it. If you can, please explain how my article is different from these articles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin_Cash, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertcoin, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litecoin, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decred, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dogecoin, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackcoin, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potcoin etc. My article was purely based on information provided by high quality third-party news sources like www.coindesk.com, www.cointelegraph.com, www.themerkle.com. I used the template from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Litecoin to make sure my article followed the same rules. The article only contained factual information about the history, development and technical aspects of the project. It does not contain (hidden) advertisement, shilling or any other form of misleading content. It has no links or information where people can buy the cryptocurrency nor is there any form of financial gain/reason for me to post the article. The article is exactly the same as the ones mentioned above so I really don't see why those article remain on Wikipedia while my article gets deleted/banned. As for WP:COI, Viacoin is not my projects nor am I part of their team. It is an open-source project that allows anyone to contribute. There is no financial gain for writing this.

Decline reason:

You will not be unblocked until:

If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organisation, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets. Yunshui  09:19, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
