Failsworth

[edit]

As I mentioned in my edit summary, Failsworth is covered by the Manchester post town, but it is not part of Manchester. Post towns are not coterminous with local authority boundaries and a post town can cover locations many miles from the designated town. Failsworth has a Manchester address but it is not part of Manchester, it's a separate town in a separate borough. If you look at the Manchester postcode area you'll see that the Manchester post town covers parts of all ten GM boroughs. Samuel J Walker (talk) 23:06, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Although in the borough of Oldham, Failsworth isn’t classed as Oldham by locals, just like towns such as Middleton, Denton and Droyslden with their respective boroughs. All are within different boroughs but would be classed as Manchester towns by the residents due to locality and postcodes. It could be easier to class it just as a town in Greater Manchester on Wikipedia if you agree. Wikimanchester9 (talk) 23:18, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
