User needing adoption

Please help....I am completely confused and need adoption. —Preceding unsigned comment added by You had a wonderful life (talkcontribs) 18:46 (UTC), 30 November 2008 (UTC)

To tell you the truth, I am quite inactive these days. Perhaps one of my kind talk page stalkers could consider adopting you? In the meantime, feel free to take a look at User:Xenocidic/wikiadopt for some helpful tutorials, and ask any specific questions you have here! Happy editing, –xeno (talk) 23:47, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't know about adoption, but feel free to drop me a line if you ever need help with anything... - Adolphus79 (talk) 00:04, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Here's the newsletter, and thanks again for helping us with this.Fairfieldfencer FFF 09:35, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Fontius Colourus

How do you change the font colour of words, like Fairfieldfencer did in the disscusion above; me must know now, or me will become very angry. Ugh! --Nikolai Angel Patreilyiov 16:48, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

wow, the first time I have put something on a dissuscion page it has not been change in more then five minutes, this has been on here well over a day! --Nikolai Angel Patreilyiov 21:23, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
This should answer your question... - Adolphus79 (talk) 21:37, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks matey, I appreciate it --Nikolai Angel Patreilyiov 18:05, 3 December 2008 (UTC)
Actually I have not finished it, is there anyway I can get my signiture to link directly to my page, with out me having to reedit the page to put my internal link on? Like I have to do again now. --Nikolai Angel Patreilyiov 18:07, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:How to fix your signature... - Adolphus79 (talk) 18:11, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Yeah it help fix my signiture, but the font colour thing it didn't help as it just told me what I should not do, (and actually I think I may have violated one of the things it told me not to do already on my user page); it didn't really tell me how to change the font colour, unless I was reading the wrong bit, I had to analyse Fairfieldfencer's signiture to work out how, but anyway thanks for trying. Much appreciated. --Nikolai Angel Patreilyiov 18:49, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Possible Vandalism

Yo, I think there was vandalism on the Xbox 360 technical problems, and I wanted to say to the editor, in a non threatening way, to not do it again, wheather they meant to or not and to check the page before saving it; but as they were a unregistered user I can't. So what do I do? --Nikolai Angel Patreilyiov 15:11, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

You are a registered user, User:Ninjalemming... since that was obviously vandalism, you did the right thing to revert it... next time, you should also leave a {{subst:test1|ArticleName}} - ~~~~ on their talk page... these are warning messages that are called templates... check the rest of them out at Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace... - Adolphus79 (talk) 15:20, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
They didn't have a talk page, so should I have made one for them? --Nikolai Angel Patreilyiov 15:23, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Yup... just click on the red talk link and add that template... don't do it now, it's a little late, but next time... - Adolphus79 (talk) 15:27, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
I know this is completely off topic, but you know how xeno made the Gamerscore tag, I wanted to know how you make stuff like that. Sorry, I may now seem like a retard for constantly asking questions but I want to be perfect. --Nikolai Angel Patreilyiov 15:43, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean, the link you provided goes to an article. Maybe this is one that I'll leave for Xeno to answer himself... - Adolphus79 (talk) 17:30, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Sorry to make my self look like a complete idiot but, how would I go around moding them; I don't know how, the whole thing (including the link) just made me more cufufaled (meaning confused). It probably is really simple I just don't get it, can you say it in a really small, simple and least technical way as possible pleeeeeeeeeeeeease? By the way I thought the plural of Userboxes was Userboxen me=Technical retard, me thinks --The Ninjalemming 15:20, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Perhaps start with the wiki markup class... To modify them just copy the code into a new page that you create (i.e. User:ninjalemming/userbox and change the parts you want (wording, colors, images). –xeno (talk) 15:07, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Can you give me a code to copy please, a nice easy one to edit like the first one you did; I don't know. However I do have a page for it like you said. --The Ninjalemming 17:46, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
User:Xenocidic/Assassinxeno (talk) 19:46, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
What does the
|id-fc = #fff
Mean, I tried to look for changes but saw none; as it has 'c' in it I expected it to be colour and the 'f' meaning front. Also what do the letters mean when decidiing on colours. and lastly (for this bit anyway) can you load up pictures from Paint Shop Pro 9 by copy and pasting them on to it as long as you did the picture and with out leaving inprints anywhere of which computer did it and personal info from this computer? and breath --'The Ninjalemming' 17:38, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
See Template:Userbox for an explanation on the different paramaters. HTML colors will give you the codes you can use for coloring. –xeno (talk) 03:22, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
I need a picture of one of those balance things that you have to put a weight in on either side to make it change balance, there is sometimes a picture of one on the donation banner. It is old and generally made of wood and used to be used to check weight. --'The Ninjalemming' 16:56, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Try http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Weighing_scalesxeno (talk) 23:41, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
I found a picture which is under http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Scale_of_justice_gold.jpg but how do I put it onto wikipedia as a userbox image, or just any image. --'The Ninjalemming' 19:14, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

You have an e-mail.

Xbox red ring of DEATH

Yo, have any of you two (xeno and adolphus) had the red ring of DEATH on your Xbox 360's; if you have what did you do to send them off. --'The Ninjalemming' 17:58, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

hey, take a picture of it and release it into the public domain... We could use that... - Adolphus79 (talk) 01:28, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
To late its gone away to Xbox heaven (i.e repairing place), it's going to be reborn as a XBOX 360 ELITE, or not. --'The Ninjalemming' 17:08, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Adolphus don't you have a 360? If not get one --'The Ninjalemming' 17:26, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm considering it... I'm about to move, but I think after the move I'll get one... or a PS3... I'm a PS2 fan, so want a PS3, but up until recently there haven't been too many good games for it, so I am still considering a 360... it will probably be a 360... - Adolphus79 (talk) 17:32, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
360's are good but don't rule out PS3's completly, if you have a spare couple of hundred quid laying around buy one and Metal Gear Solid 4, it's a brilliant game, hope the move goes well. --'The Ninjalemming' 17:40, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
Adolphus79, we already have File:Xbox360-ringofdeath.jpg. ;) EVula // talk // // 17:45, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
I was always a fan of the Playstation, having a PS1 and then a PS2. However, I decided to switch to the Xbox (getting a 360 elite) instead of getting a PS3. Best decision I ever made! Adolphus, I HIGHLY recommend you get a 360! (PS - I've never had the red ring of death! Is it a certainty that it will happen or are they rare?) JS (chat) 18:30, 12 December 2008 (UTC)
The RROD (meaning Red Ring Of Death) mainly happens due to overheating, if you got a newer model (so brought one later) then they have new chips, like the previously mentioned Jasper chipset, which produces less heat (check Xbox 360 technical problems for more details). The chances of having the Red Ring depends on how much you play it, of old it is, and how ventalated it is (so clean the fans of dust regularly), it may also help putting a fan next to it to keep it cool, but don't reli to much on it, and never buy a third party fan to put on it, it will void your warrenty and the fan can melt onto the Xbox. I personal had my Xbox 360 for well over a year before getting it about a week ago, some people I know though got it almost instantly, I was lucky. I don't have a Jasper chip and don't know wheather Microsoft will put one in, I will wait and see. --'The Ninjalemming' 13:23, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Hey, xeno what does the phone # do about your xbox? Cause I've experienced the red ring and it aint bloddy fun at all. Cheerio!--Ezekiel 7:19 †alk 16:47, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
get an RMA... the nice folks will send you a coffin for your old xbox and send you a new one ... =) –xeno (talk) 19:12, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Template issue

This has got me spinning in circles (mentally). Somehow the templates Template:Gears of War series and Template:Template:Gears of War are getting mixed up. The first template is the one that is being used for the Gears of War articles, and I'm trying to get the second, redundant template deleted. I can't tell how this works out, but the first template is being displayed on the articles while clicking on the view template, discussion page, and edit template links in the left corner direct me instead to the second template. Would you mind figuring out what is wrong (if anything) and straightening it out? I have edited both, which may or may not have compounded the problem, just so you know. Thanks. -- Commdor {Talk} 20:52, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

My god what a horrid name for a template. –xeno (talk) 00:52, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Recently submitted page was deleted

I had a recently submitted biography about myself deleted. I provided some very solid reasoning for why I, Jesse Marino, should have a biography on wikipedia. If you would like me to restate that reasoning, I would love to do so for you. I deserve to have my page published on wikipedia for numerous reasons, and have plenty of people willing to back me on this claim if you still find me "insignificant." —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmarino27 (talkcontribs) 22:09, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

It is not that you are "insignificant", your article simply did not meet the requirements for biographies that are explained here: WP:BIO. If you can ensure your article meets those standards, you may consider recreating it. Perhaps try building the article in your userspace first, at User:Jmarino27. You should also note our policy on conflicts of interest and ensure you are writing from a neutral point of view. Best regards, –xeno (talk) 03:04, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
