Cargo airports

How are these useful to travellers? I'd normally summarily delete such listings, but do they also serve general aviation (individual pilots flying their private planes) or passenger charter flights? Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:30, 5 June 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, names of airports can be very misleading. e.g. Hobart or Broome have their airport as "Hobart International Airport" and "Broome International Airport", but they don't have international flights. The Owerri airport actually offers passenger services, although the name is misleading. It is one of the major airports in South Eastern Nigeria.Timmylegend (talk) 10:42, 7 June 2021 (UTC)

Copypasta?

This is relevant to too many users for a user talk page: Is any of this uncredited copypasta that violates Wikivoyage:Copyleft (=plagiarism)? Ping User:Preshgilbert, User:Nze Victoria, User:Kulest, User:Iwuala Lucy, User:102.88.33.149. I'll look forward to reading your remarks about this. In the meantime, I'd like to point out that the "directions" tab is not for a long numbered list, but rather for cross-streeets and the like - please read Wikivoyage:Listings - and that default address info (Owerri 460114 Imo, etc.) should be omitted from "address" tabs in favour of street addresses only. Also, everyone, please read Wikivoyage:Don't tout, because even though it's likely that none of you intend to tout, that page has important information for you about the expected tone of Wikivoyage articles and listings. With regards to the first point, I could you simplify 'copypasta'

For the second point, I now understand the purpose "direction" tab and it would be communicated across to the above users.

Thirdly, we don't intent to tout and has no such intention. The Users are only focused on documenting Agricultural Institutions on the this pages.

Copypasta is copying and pasting from other websites. I know that touting is not intended, but when someone copies and pastes promotional content from a university's website, the effect is to tout. If you read Wikivoyage:Don't tout, you'll see what tone is expected on this site. Everyone understands that new users face a learning curve here; all of us were new users once. @Ikan Kekek Thanks for the simplification. For clarification, does it mean a contributor is not allowed to paste a website link on the website tab while adding listing.

Also, I would want to know if Google Map information could could not be used.

Yes, I believe new users can learn by reading what experienced users have written, however, I'm beginning to understand that practical scenerios as this are also part of the learning process just as in this case.

You're most welcome. Primary links should be used, so for example, a museum's website should be given in the "url" tab of a listing for a museum. It's no problem to get coordinates from Google Maps, as those can't be copyrighted. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking about in terms of Google Maps. Formatting

To make it easier for readers to find information in articles, Wikivoyage uses standard formatting in its articles. Some new editors have been using a variety of different styles, which makes Wikivoyage harder to read, and look like a random mess of information, instead of a travel guide.

1. Times in Nigeria articles must be in this format: 9AM-noon, 2-6PM, 9PM-midnight.
2. Days of the week are abbreviation like this: M Tu W Th F Sa Su.
3. If a business is open every day, write "daily", instead of "M-Su".
4. Phone numbers must be in this format: +234 700 5454 3663.
5. In the Owerri article, we don't add "Owerri, Imo State" in addresses -- that is obvious. And we don't include the post code, either.
6. And don't type ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS.

@Iwuala Lucy: If a business opens at 9 o'clock in the morning and closes at 10 o'clock in the evening, the times should be written as 9AM-10PM, not "9am-10pm" and not "09:00-22:00" in Nigerian articles.

It was just the last listing that was doubled, making me think the listings after the first occurrence were missing. Will merge them. Seems there were some tweaks made also to the latter version (I thought the changes were only mine, made to the first). I hope nothing serious was missed. Examples of correct (and incorrect) time formatting

• M-F 9AM-5PM (not Mon-Fri 9am-5pm)
• Sa Su noon-11PM (not Sat Sun 12AM-11PM)
• Daily 10AM-5:30PM (not M-Su 10:00-17:30)

Number of restaurants

@Chigozirim2005, Mbah Victor Chukwuemerie, LPfi, Iwuala Lucy, SHB2000: There are now 104 restaurants listed on this article. That is probably the most restaurants we have listed in a single article in all of Wikivoyage. Please do not add any more restaurants.

Please read Wikivoyage:Goals and non-goals:

"City guides should certainly include information for travel-related companies, but these should be kept to a useful number. Think of a friend from out of town asking you where they should go – you wouldn't list all 200 possibilities, but 5–10 options for a particular type, budget, or part of town would be helpful."

Most of the listings have very little information about the restaurants. How will our readers choose between them? This guide would be more useful to readers if descriptions were added to the listings, and if we started deleting listings for ordinary restaurants so that the reader can focus on the best and most interesting ones.
