Why I want to learn filmmaking.
Well, I started getting interested in film when I was about 11. I filmed a few meetings and training tapes for the place where my dad worked at the time, went on to film a local habitat for humanity documentary, did several other personal documentaries, and some short film entries for contests. I've mostly looked a lot into trying to imitate regular film effects on indie budgets, such as CGI, post-production visual effects, special effects, etc. I decided to go ahead and take the course partly to say I've actually gone through some sort of film course, but also because I'd like to learn to work with projects that aren't necessarily my own. I'm ok at finishing films that were my idea, or my inspiration, but I have a hard time working on something that isn't my own idea. That, and I've figured out by now that if you're self-taught in anything, you usually end up missing something.
