Ayesha Jones (born 7 October 2006) is a British javelin thrower.[1]
Career
editFrom Milton Keynes, she is a member of Marshall Milton Keynes Athletics Club and started competing in athletics at seven years-old.[2] She was initially a sprinter before focusing on the javelin throw. She broke the Junior Commonwealth Games record in Trinidad and Tobago at the 2023 Youth Commonwealth Games in August 2023, throwing a junior personal best 52.49m.[3][4]
She threw a senior personal best of 49.28m at the UK Winter Long Throws Championships, held in Loughborough in February 2024.[5] She competed at the Loughborough International in May 2024 throwing 51.66 metres.[6][7]
She finished fourth in the senior 2024 British Athletics Championships in Manchester in June 2024, throwing 47.16 metres.[8] She was selected for the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.[9]
