Padmasiri Thrimavithana was a medical student of University of Colombo. He was a prominent student activist against North Colombo Private Medical College. He was torture and killed by Sri Lankan Government and his body dumped at Wellawaya-Koslanda road[1][2]
Early life and Education
editThrimavithana was born in Galduwa, Kahawa, Ambalangoda, Galle on 24 February 1964. His father was a language translator at District Court Galle. He was the eldest of four sibling and was primary educated at Ronnaduwa and Kahawa Weragoda school. And later attended to secondary education for Mahinda College, Galle and his 3rd attempt he was selected to Medical Fauclty at University of Colombo in 1985.[citation needed]
Murder
editThrimavithana, Ranjith Perera and B.D. Banduwardana who are other protestors against the Ragama private medical faculty, were kidnapped by who believed to be Sri Lanka government forces by a jeep at Rantnapura Bus stand on October 22, 1988. Next day their bodies were found by a farmer at Wellawaya-Koslanda road and informed to Sri Lanka Police. Thrimavithana's body was burned by cigarette and nail was ripped off from his body and later a roofing nail was inserted to his head which kills Thrimavithana. His body was buried at near by cemetery by government forces soon after finding his body. [3]
